guys, words really matter. clickbait titles are sloppy (not OP’s fault). While this cactus is extinct in the wild, Fairchild has extensive plant populations of it, with viable seed banks and healthy seedlings, along with fully mature plants that are healthier now than they were in the wild. “Wipes out species” is a false claim. I’ve hand pollinated these cactus myself there
