will be his first big test the British prime minister on the international stage he’s made clear NATO will remain a Cornerstone for Britain’s security and he wants to speed up military aid to Ukraine A children’s hospital in Kyiv has been largely destroyed after Russia launched a wave of missile strikes against cities across Ukraine.

The Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital – Ukraine’s biggest paediatrics facility – sustained major damage in the explosion.

Thirty-six people were killed and 140 people were injured in the airstrikes, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office. They said more than 40 missiles of different types had hit buildings and infrastructure in cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

Russia has denied targeting the hospital, saying it was hit by a Ukrainian air defence missile. But Ukraine says it found fragments of a Russian cruise missile at the scene.

Tnen ukrainian air defence system shot the missile and it fell to the hospital. the missile debris is clearly a defense missile. so it was not a intentional hit by civilian target. The ukrainians installed the complex near the hospital. you do not hear this in the western media

  12. BBC Verify needs an update. Russia targeted and destroyed two other medical facilities in addition to this children's hospital in this attack on Kyiv. Russia has precedent for attacking civilian targets such as hospitals and energy infrastructure to apply political pressure forcing an entry into negotiations. This intentional targeting of civilians breaks international law and shows Russia is a terrorist state! It's critical that doves in the US and Germany remove their immoral and idiotic restrictions on the use of military aid provided to Ukraine.

  13. Based on various news sources, it appears that many missiles were fired from Russia and subsequently shot down. I believe it should have been a priority to intercept the missile targeting the children's hospital. The timing is highly suspicious, coinciding with the Ukrainian President's heightened concern following the US debate. It is possible that he sacrificed the children's hospital to garner sympathy and outrage from allied countries. Alternatively, it could be entirely Russia's fault. The truth remains uncertain.

    True: Russia attacked military facilities in Kiev, and the hospital was hit by an AIM-120 air defense missile from the NASAMS air defense system used by the Ukrainian side. This is evidenced by both the ratio of the linear dimensions of the rocket (diameter and length) and the nature of the damage (the collapse of only a small part of the building and damage from shrapnel on neighboring buildings). Moreover, footage with shrapnel characteristic of anti-aircraft missiles was distributed directly in Ukrainian telegram channels.

    The length of the AIM-120 rocket is 366 cm, diameter 17.8 cm, and the ratio of length to diameter is 1/20.6. For the X-101, these parameters are 745 cm, 74.2 cm, ratio 1/10, for the X-55 588 cm, 51.4 cm, ratio 1/11.4, respectively. The screenshot from the arrival video clearly shows that even despite shooting at an angle, not exactly in the side projection, the length of the rocket exceeds its diameter by more than 15 times.

    Indirect evidence also includes the absence of the characteristic sound of the engines of the Russian rocket (the whistle is present in the second video, but it differs from what it would be in the case of the arrival of the X-101), and the arrival of ammunition from the western side.

    However, Ukrainian propaganda, which received the task of focusing maximum attention on the "picture" on the eve of the NATO summit, is doing its best to prove that the strike was carried out by a Russian missile. You can plainly see the Russian cruise missiles hit a military facility and in the same part of the video the Patriot missile (which looks totally different) hits the hospital. Stop spreading lies!
