  1. Bring it to a bank, they’ll take it and give you a new one, provided it’s >50% of the note

  2. I may be open to correction buy If you have the half with the serial number (which i think you do), You can bring it to a bank and get it swapped out

  3. If you bring it to a bank that you have an account with they should exchange it for another fully intact note.

  4. Send it to the central bank, their website has advice about torn notes, it’ll tell you what to do there

  5. It has to be atleast 50%. Does it look like it? No. Can you take another €50 note and compare ? Yes.

  6. If you get like 20 more of these you could tear a small sliver out of each one and make one whole one

  7. I worked in bank of Ireland for 17 years, the bank will accept a note if you have more than 50% of it. I don’t know how I would call that one though

  8. Worthless.. I’ll give you a fiver for it, for my collection.

  9. Give it to a 10 year old and let them worry about it

  10. Obviously I can’t say for definite but, if a euro note is anything like a sterling note, there should be a serial number on each side (obverse and reverse) at opposite ends.

    [According to the ECB](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/euro/banknotes/damaged/html/index.en.html#:~:text=If%20you%20possess%20more%20than,replacement%20is%20free%20of%20charge):

    >***If you possess more than half*** of a damaged euro banknote, or i***f you can prove that the missing part of the banknote has been destroyed***, the national central bank can replace it. Intentionally mutilated or damaged euro banknotes are not replaced.

    (emphasis mine)

I think it would be up to the CBoI to determine whether that counts as “more than half” – I think you’d be chancing it…Seems a bit of a palaver, I’m not sure you can just walk into a bank and get it exchanged…

    [https://www.centralbank.ie/consumer-hub/notes-and-coins/exchange-old-or-damaged-money/exchange-of-euro-banknotes](https://www.centralbank.ie/consumer-hub/notes-and-coins/exchange-old-or-damaged-money/exchange-of-euro-banknotes)

    [There’s a fucking 4-page application form](https://www.centralbank.ie/docs/default-source/consumer-hub-library/notes-and-coins/exchange-of-damaged-euro-banknotes.pdf?sfvrsn=af3ea41d_28)

And that states at the bottom:

    >
    Documentation Requirements: Source of Damage

    >Please provide any relevant documentation to support the explanation for the damage. If you are presenting less than 50% of a banknote for exchange, provide evidence that the missing parts have been destroyed.

If you can’t provide details of how the note was damaged, you’re SOL, it would appear…

  11. Still waiting on your update bigdick🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

  12. There is a trick. Rip another 50 euro note in thirds leaving the middle third to match the tear in this note. Rip them up some more, as if you’ve ripped up an envelope that had them inside. Bring it to the bank and say it was in a birthday card envelop and you threw it out.

Repeat with the 2nd €50 and you’ll likely end up with €100 or nothing. It’s a crap shoot 😉

  13. 1,5 serial numbers or it’s worthless. This because you could bring the other half and try for another €50.
