Rishi Sunak says ‘I am sorry’

can I start by congratulating the Prime Minister on his election Victory and as he takes on his formidable task he and his family deserve the good wishes of all of us in this house I am sorry we have lost too many diligent community-spirited Representatives whose wisdom and expertise will be missed in the debates and discussions ahead it is important that after 14 years in government the conservative party rebuilds so now we will take up the crucial role of his Majesty’s official opposition professionally effectively and humbly and restoring trust Begins by remembering that being here is an opportunity to do what those we serve expect of us and in our case that means holding the new government to account

In his first speech as Leader of the Opposition, Rishi Sunak congratulated Sir Keir Starmer on becoming prime minister and apologised to the former Conservative MPs who lost their seats in the election.

  1. This is how you sometimes be a winner even when u have lost, well done rishi very nicely said, no one does it it better than the british in politics

  2. I wish an Indian had worked for his own country, instead for others, others will use you but never accept you as union, I wish each person originally related to whom country worked for that country, because a day will come that they removes you from line on some funny stuff, but being in your own home feels marvelously something beneficial and interesting
