Children’s hospital in Ukraine hit after deadly Russian missile attack

Deborah what are your thoughts on the timing of this uh attack well it is one of you know it’s the biggest missile attack on Ukraine in in several months and it comes ahead of a major NATO Summit in Washington later this week Ki Dharma will be heading to Washington to meet with the leaders of all 32 members of The Alliance and obviously the the war in Ukraine is going to be a massive Focus for them uh we’re almost two two and a half years into the war now Russia is showing no sign of changing its path in terms of trying to conquer its neighbor H and the president president zelinski in posts on social media today has pointed to the attacks by Russia against Ukrainian cities he said a total of five cities were hit including that Children’s Hospital that you mentioned in keev he said that people need to look at this and look at what Russia is and what it’s doing and clearly this will underline further requests from Ukraine to its Western partners for more weapons to help counter The Invasion but also to help defend cities from these bombardments we’ve also heard today in terms of the actual impact of the attack there a number of electricity power stations um substations in keev were also hit that has been one of the strategies by Russia uh over the past two years to Target critical infrastructure in Ukraine to bring that country to its knees not just through the military offensive with soldiers fighting on the ground but also hurting civilians not just with these missile attacks which are terrifying deadly and destructive but as well by taking out power leaving people for long periods of time in the darkness it’s something that’s incredibly uncomfortable in the summer when it’s hot and it’s really dangerous in the winter when it’s cold and they’re not able to heat their homes and Deborah what do you make of the scale of this attack because as you say the attacks have been going on but but a much smaller scale uh how how does this compare what’s happened today it’s a significant attack you you know there’s been these moments uh throughout the conflict when the when Russia has launched a heavy bombardment of missiles the Ukrainian Air Force says among the more than 40 missiles fired at Ukraine today were Hypersonic missiles which can fly more than 10 times the speed of sound these are incredibly hard to intercept so Russia using this kind of weapon will know that most likely they will be able to hit their targets and as I said it’s ahead of the NATO Summit there were warnings um I spoke to a couple of of experts in the last two weeks who said they anticipated ahead of The Summit in NATO for Russia to do something to try to grab the head the headlines to try to seize the initiative to show NATO allies that despite all the support that the West has been given to Ukraine Russia is still able to inflict huge pain on that country

A children’s hospital in Kyiv has been hit by missiles as Russia unleashed a deadly barrage across Ukraine.

The attack is the biggest bombardment of the Ukrainian capital for several months, officials said.

At least nine people have been killed, and 33 others injured, they added, as the attack struck the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv – Ukraine’s biggest children’s medical facility.

  2. There is strong evidence that there are tunnels and a military complex underneath leading to Zelensky's hideout. Russia respects international law and does not target hospitals or cilivian infrastructure.

  33. When I looked at the video I thought I was looking st a report about how the Russians bombed a childrens hospital in Ukraine. But a lot of the comments hete are about Gaza which I thought was another conflict? Did I miss anything? Are the conflicts correlated? Or are they only correlated in sick minds?

  38. Truth: The Russian Federation has hit strategic military targets. The children's hospital building was damaged by the Ukrainian air defense system.

    Reasoning:

    Judging by the nature of the damage on the facade of the hospital building, it is obvious that it was caused by air defense shrapnel. Ukrainians are now finding pieces of the same shrapnel near the hospital and posting photos on social networks. Representatives of the Kiev regime admit that the air defense system worked.

    It is clear that if a rocket attack had been carried out on the hospital, the damage would have been much greater. There would literally be nothing left of the building. In this case, only the facade of the building was damaged, with characteristic traces of shrapnel and broken glass.

  39. I'm not convinced. Ill just wait till the official investigation is released. Its too convenient for ukraine that Putin would do something so terrible and that then the support would come back for Ukraine. It has no military purpose to do such a thing. The other story I've heard was scrapnel from air defence. Well see afterwards which one is true.
