I must be sleep deprived, because I read that title as NFTs instead of QR codes and instantly felt my blood pressure rising.
Interesting to see how the BBC has obliged to spin this article, prioritising some guff about making it possible to watch videos of Shaun The Sheep or idk liek (sic) videos from the senders (I mean, really, the fuck?) over the point that you’ve now got 12 months to use or exchange old stamps or they won’t be valid any more, and completely omitting that this measure has been brought in largely to combat the huge amounts of counterfeit stamps knocking about.
There’s a [service in Germany](https://blog.gigaset.com/en/the-mobile-postage-stamp-is-here/) where you can get actual digital stamps that you purchase online but which can be used in real life. The service generates an alphanumeric code that you hand-write on the letter in place of a physical stamp.
Thought that was cool. Would be more interested in seeing that here than QR codes on stamps.
