Prince William Celebrates Homewards Initiative Anniversary

see exactly thank you for coming way down see you again team pleas to meet you ni to meet you sometimes I feel it takes the visibility of it you do with this every day you’re in you’re in the weed every day having to fight this lots of businesses organizations care about it but don’t know where to start and you help get people involved with the university how’s home help relationship I start start for me it’s fantastic to be back in Lambeth where a year ago I can’t believe we launched homewoods and began our journey of working together to demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness homelessness is a complex societal issue and one that touches the lives of far too many people in our society However I truly believe that it can be ended I created homewoods because I wanted us to look at the issue of homelessness through a different lens to inspire a movement to prevent people from Ever experiencing homelessness in the first place I know this will take a huge effort and I know that demonstrating that homelessness is not an inevitable part of our society will take time I have though been struck by the scale of the work that has been carried out since the launch of homood and I hope it is a powerful reminder to everyone of what can be achieved when we work together towards a shared goal over the past 12 months across our six locations an incredible amount of work has been done to build the foundations for Success coalitions have been built bringing together over 500 individuals and organizations who are setting ambitious priorities and co-developing new ways of addressing homelessness that are local relevant and collaborative something that has never been done before on this scale 11 industry-leading companies have joined our mission providing in kind support and expertise to support our six locations to them I say thank you to those who are not yet involved I urge you to come and join us on this journey already a pipeline of nearly 100 homes is being established through the Innovative housing projects which will be developed in each location and believe me my ambitions alone mean there’ll be so many more [Music]

Prince William marked the first year of his Homewards initiative by returning to the London Borough of Lambeth where he launched it. In a speech he reiterated his belief that homelessness can be ended and said the ideas and approaches being developed in the six target areas “will have the power to inspire change across the UK and beyond”.   5. Great initiative, Prince William! Well done. I like that you understand that ig is a complex issue and have taken it on anyway. People with mental illness have many issues and many cannot navigate or understand the services that are available, especially if they are already without an address, which disqualifies them. Thank you. And… I see that both Meghan and Harry need mental health care and support. Blessings to King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Catherine and your children, Princess Anne and her fanily, and also Prince Edward and family, as Edward seems to be struggling a bit. The passion to end homelessness, is thoroughly acknowledged, and should serve, to move in the direction of 1) housing everyone first, equal to developing a social service network of care that transitions with the individual experiencing homelessness, to provide support in community living…the reality of the situation-each generation faces deadlier street drugs, cultural and economic challenges. Mental Health services and Chemical Treatment programs, have to be equal resources developed, to mitigate the encroachment of Drug and Human Trafficking syndicates…continue on William…as always, I'm NY 1962 Toms very British/Brazilian future wife MD, Veteran, Middle East & Cont. of Africa…returning home to Britain, Charles, Anne and Camilla……God & Angels, always watching

  36. One can see the weariness in this young(ish) man's face. So much on his shoulders, trying to save the world and perform like a trained seal for the cameras while his wife is so ill.
