Joe Biden mistakenly calls Ukrainian president ‘Putin’ | ABC News
it’s not a great lead up to this high stakes media conference for Joe Biden uh just in the last 15 minutes or so he has had a sit down very important sit down with Vladimir zalinski the president of Ukraine and in that in those talks in front of all the cameras and the microphones uh this is how Joe Biden referred to zalinski and now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine who has his much courage as he has determination ladies and gentlemen President Putin President Putin he’s going to beat President Putin president zinski I’m so focused on beating Putin we got to worry about it anyway Mr President I’m better you are a hell lot [Music] better uh gee um listen uh and and that that that goes right to the heart of concerns Rising concerns within the Democratic party about President Biden’s mental accurity whether he’s up to serving another four years in office he’s 81 years old uh he has been mixing names up for quite a while now uh back in February uh he mixed up the names of the president of Mexico and the president of Egypt uh he has often forgotten names at official events and that will go down like a lead balloon I can tell you now with a lot of the very nervous Democratic party senators and congressmen and women who believe Joe Biden should think again uh about running for a second term uh that media conference increasingly high stakes media conference now now uh involving Joe Biden his first one in 8 months has been delayed we we haven’t got a firm time it was meant to start in about 35 minutes or so now more likely to be at least an hour or so away but uh in terms of a lead in that was far from perfect
US President Joe Biden makes an awkward gaffe at a NATO event moments before a highly anticipated media conference to allay fears about his age and health.
