Emergency Fundraiser

Our friend Will's (/u/Sickofthebullshit202 on reddit, william_90 on our discord) nonprofit, is giving us the opportunity to help him with raising funds to help the victims of the Russian attacks on the hospitals in Ukraine. Many of you probably know Will from our discord and from fundraisers here on the sub, he was in Ukraine as a volunteer last year.

But let's bring this up fast, so not too many words, I'll just share his words from the discord with you:

I had wanted to make sure we were fully ready to roll out the news, but as happens so often, russia has a knack for getting in the way. We have officially gained status as a US federal nonprofit in the Unites States, proudly named The Sunflower Coalition 🌻 . Our website is in the works, but right now something more important has happened.

Due to the attacks on the children's hospitals today, we are launching an emergency fundraiser for medical relief. Funds will be used to procure medical supplies, equipment, humanitarian aid, and search and rescue aid to impacted areas.

Already communities are banding together and moving mountains. Images are flooding into my phone of mounds of donated water, clothes, and other supplies to do anything people think will help.

It's time to go to work and do our part.

I'll be updating you all again soon when the website is launched, but for now, lets do what we can and remind Ukraine that they are not alone. No child is forgotten, no parent is without sympathy. This ruthless attack can not go unanswered.

As always, we are stronger together, and its only together that we will win.

-Will

  1. I want to thank everyone for their consideration, even if you don’t donate. I was in Ukraine, in the east, for six months. I met some amazing people and was amazed to see the help you all provided firsthand. I meant to make a large post when I came home, but being back hasn’t been easy.

But thank you. Thank you for not letting what is happening in Ukraine to be unheard. Thank you for caring, for making sure that last winter soldiers were clothed, that they had medical supplies, and that they knew people from all over the world cared.

I hope to do a big post sometime soon, but for now, we work. As always, I’m around in the comments to answer questions and help. You can always catch me on the Discord too.

  2. I can’t fathom to understand what option families with children have during the time of war to get out of harms way. I have never been in a country during wartime and it bothers me a bit that Russia denies even bombing the capital and the headlines are “children’s hospital bombed.” It’s a chaotic world! I admire the fight for their country and the national anthem lyrics. If we can somehow live on a planet without a money system and avoiding any kinds of tyranny would be nice. I want a better world than this.

  3. Update:
So far we have purchased 20 soft stretchers, are looking into specific surgical instruments like laparoscopic scissors, have purchased more whistles (more information on that project coming later), and are looking at supplying both rescuers and soldiers with a newer option for moving casualties.

Thank you for your help so far, every bit of generosity is being put to good use. Photo updates and/or receipts will follow once we have everything allocated.

  4. They write a lot that there is a lot of corruption in Ukraine, and any funds go into the pockets of officials

    Charity has become dangerous

It’s devastating to those in need.
