So basically more people migrating to the West rather than remaining in other continents.
Does climate collapse factor in these projections?
the revision in population projection was long overdue, Lancet used same data as UN and came up with a peak global population of 9.5 billion
even now the projections are a fucking joke detached from reality on many levels
* UN assumes India’s fertility rate will stabilize between 1.8 to1.7, **meanwhile richer states in India like West Bengal are already at 1.56 .West Bengal is barely 10 years ahead of the rest of India economically** [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_and_union_territories_of_India_by_fertility_rate](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_and_union_territories_of_India_by_fertility_rate)
* for past 30 years, UN projected Japan’s fertility rate to recover gradually to 1.8, it didn’t happen and it kept falling to 1.3
* Mexico is projected to stabilize at 1.7 TFR , it already dropped last year below that [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Mexico#Current_vital_statistics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Mexico#Current_vital_statistics)
* Latin America stabilizing at 1.7 TFR ,when most LATAM countries are below that and keep dropping so far in 2024 (births fell by 13% so far this year in Brazil, after 5% last year [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Brazil#Current_vital_statistics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Brazil#Current_vital_statistics)
* Vietnam stabilizing at 1.7 when in big cities its already 1.3 [https://vietnamnet.vn/en/women-have-fewer-babies-hcm-city-s-birth-rate-on-decline-2300643.html](https://vietnamnet.vn/en/women-have-fewer-babies-hcm-city-s-birth-rate-on-decline-2300643.html)
UN population forecasters must have industrial supplies of copium at hand
EDIT: note that all these headline figures are for total population, but most population growth will happen due to aging and increases in life expectancy allowing people to live longer
the number of people over 65 is projected to increase by 1.4 billion by 2100, so **75% of the remaining population growth will be a growth in old people**
**the global number of people under 20** will start falling this decade
[https://ourworldindata.org/explorers/population-and-demography?hideControls=false&Metric=Population+by+broad+age+group&Sex=Both+sexes&Age+group=Total&Projection+Scenario=Medium&country=~OWID_WRL](https://ourworldindata.org/explorers/population-and-demography?hideControls=false&Metric=Population+by+broad+age+group&Sex=Both+sexes&Age+group=Total&Projection+Scenario=Medium&country=~OWID_WRL)
if you believe the Lancet, then **even population under 35 will peak this decade**
For my own country, The Netherlands, the UN is much more pessimistic than our national statistics agency. The national statistics agency projects the population to continue growing from 18 million today to 20.6 million in 2070. The UN projects a decline starting in 2040, reaching 18.50 million in 2070 with continued decline after that point. Quite the difference!
So there will be a ratio of 6:1 between Africa and Europe in less than 80 years and Europe is willfully opening their arms to immigrants.
Wait for Africa to improve their technological abilities (with the help of China) and the invasion is just about ready.
All while Europe is dumping taxpayer’s hard earned money in “charity” endeavours for these people. Maybe time to get serious about security of this continent before it’s too late.
I guess we’ll be in 2100 and africa still stuck in 2000.
I remember, not even 10 years ago, people pushing like crazy that we’d be hitting 12 to 13 billion by 2050. And that we’d be extremely overpopulated.
And always denied that population decline was getting worse.
Africa: ⬆️⬆️⬆️
