That is a sizable drone…..or some fairly small humans.
That thing is massive
Great, now we got our own killer drones. /s
I’ld love to see who was involved and what investments and “lobbyist contacts” they have.
Has anyone told the Germans that these things will be armed?
I see the Spanish flag there. I guess they will use the airbus factory there.
The message of strategic autonomy comes across loud and clear. It lays the foundation for our own military industrial complex. Both Russia and the US are so out of their league if Europe gets its shit together.
Looks impressive. Is it bigger than F35?
[Some more info](https://www.airbus.com/en/products-services/defence/uas/uas-solutions/eurodrone).
so more money for killing kids in Middle East
Great news
The EU has know-how but I predict a failure. Multi nation projects in the EU usually takes a lot longer and much more expensive than single nation projects. The engineering teams usually fight with each other because of egoistic reasons (Eurofighter-Rafale). The participating countries charge the participating states several times more than what it really cost for corruption.
The Eurofighter program started almost simultaneously with F-15 program in1971, and entered in service in 2003.
Wait they’re that big?
does it fire ze missiles? because it needs to fire ze missiles.
Weaponized drones should be banned
That’s a big boy! A European military is long over due!
There’s already European companies that sell drones. This isn’t about autonomy, this is about the eu pushing for more control over industry.
Thereumi
Can’t wait to see some weddings drone striked with this bad boy!
I’m getting Interstellar vibes.
So… How does this drone compare to other drones on the markets? Is it any good?
Hooray, now we can kill brown people too!!
I really need to look into how cooperation between countries at rhis level works because it would seem like a clusterfuck.
So now we too can bomb brown children?
So we’re just doing a copy+paste job?
More jobs for the Germans
another program that is already dead because of the germans
This probably explains the biggest build up of military might in Europe for 50 years.
These drones and other new military hardware don’t come cheap.
The companies that sell this stuff will be getting big orders from governments who have been told off by USA for not spending enough on defense.
Finally us Europeans will also be able to bomb weddings and claim that they were all just “unarmed combatants”
Everyone who works for companies that produce these weapons should just quit.
Imagine a world with just rifles and guns for police/hunters/etc and governments actually spending that saved money on saving the planet.
O shit… I guess it just became that much worse to live in the middle-east.
Does that mean we can start droning people we don’t like in other countries like the USA?
Let’s compete in **oof**ing Middle-Eastern kids with Americans /s
You forgot about Spanish contribution
I still don’t understand why the Germans wanted such a heavy lifter… but always seemed to have doubts about arming it.
Unless the idea was to load it like a mule with external tanks and acquisition pods lol
Looking at the plane, it really doesn’t look that advanced- stealthy. In this time of long range AA -missiles that can cover huge distances, it looks like it is a massive target, only useable against low-tech adversaries.
About 15 years late
i dont know why but until this photo I thought US drones where the size of an extra large dog
Yurop stronk! 💪😁
Europe wants to get in on the killing again huh. Can’t let the US have it all.
Yaaay, more murder machines.
Oh cool, I currently work at the airfield in Manching. I’m eager to see the drone live and upclose.
Hilarious how the anti-death people gets downvoted. Drones should not be used, the US example has been a horrible lesson in extra-judicial murder.
Why so large?
Dope
Lol Leonardo… I hope the biggest responsibility they have is printing the little flags… anything else… well.
