A Republican shot Former President Trump.
Considering who was shooting at Trump I am going with the personal theory that they were mad Trump banned bump stocks and said take away the guns and worry about due process later.
Someone should tell the Registered Republicans that.

What’s the protocol for this situation? We all know that when kindergartners are shot it’s “thoughts and prayers”, followed by “it’s not the time to discuss sensible gun legislation, let’s not politicize this”.

Trump was defeated by ballots in 2020. He then launched an insurrection and a coup attempt. Congressional republicans snd the Supreme Court have not just blocked efforts to hold him accountable but have made it harder to guarantee that 2024 will not be overturned by Trump and his thugs.
Of course this centrist rag that promotes far-right ideas to liberals is acting like the left is responsible for attacking Trump, and lecturing the left about how “violence is not the answer”

Voting isn’t going to defeat Trumpism. Fascism has never been defeated by voting. If Republicans lose in November, they’ll just refuse to accept the election results.
These past 8 years have shown how woefully unprepared Democrats are for fighting fascism.
Not advocating for bullets, but we already beat him at the ballot box: We beat him in 2016 on raw votes, in 2020 on both votes and the Electoral College.

I love these Captain Obvious Think Pieces that are pumped out after a tragedy. Virtually every person who wants to defeat Trump through votes (Democrats and others) is opposed to shooting candidates. There was no point in writing this article but thank heavens sanctimony prevailed.

Republicans have been told for years that guns are a legitimate solution to their problems. It’s not surprising a Republican attempted to address Trumpism taking over their party by using a gun.
Maybe the party should vote for a gun control bill and take a hard stance against gun ownership.

The justice system continues to fail the American people and has been unable or unwilling to appropriately deal with anti-American extremists in our own gov’t who tried to subvert the peaceful transition of power and overthrow our democracy. Chaos erupts when justice is impotent.

Interesting how neither side has really mentioned gun control after this. All the focus is on the identity and politics of the shooter. (Who is a registered Republican)
Given how much R’s have rigged the ballot game, bullets may be the only viable option left. I’m not calling for it, but I’m also not judging those who feel that is their course.
