As of the time of posting, all future 11th/12th/marching/bonfire/related content must be posted in this thread, which will run from 08/07 to 15/07.
There is one major difference to last year: the most actionable piece of feedback we received was that there were 1-2 news stories which, despite being 12th related or adjacent, were significant enough to deserve exemption from megathread-jail.
This year, if we remove a news story that you think has wider scope than slabbering about the 12th, and shouldn't be banished to the megathread, you can send in a modmail and the mod team will make a subjective call on an exemption.
One post per exempted topic per day will be allowed, we don't need 10 news articles all saying the same thing. The per-day limit is there to allow updates to the story and stop it being "forced" off the front page via age. Naturally these posts need to be in the correct format.
As we're allowing significant news stories to be posted outside the m e g a t h r e a d this year, we are not going to allow any content that was confined to the MEGATHREAD to be re-posted after it ends. Any news or slabber that takes place on or after the 16th is fair game.
Otherwise?!
Complaining? This thread.
Enjoying? This thread.
Meming? This thread.
LARPing, as Byson or otherwise? This. Thread.
Please feel free to complain about our decision… in this thread!
Much love and a happy 12th/Donegal escape week to you all,
- Mod Team.

Wishing all the Orange men a fun day at their cosplay convention.
GB news coverage is absolutely dire.

Look at the shape of this parading today!

What’s a fitting name for this album cover?
Also, fuck this stupid megathread.

A lot are spending the 12th July in Skegness
I understand traditions/homage/ Forefathers etc but why do we differ so much from the land that supposedly conquered us in Northern Ireland.
Today is irrelevant to the majority of people across the sea except for looking down on us like dogs arguing (just leave them to it and don’t get involved).
We have no Royal Mail postal service, shops have to (some want to or use it as an opportunity) shut, it’s just like the perfect example of implosion. Thing is the we only cost ourselves freedom. It’s not just about today but it’s in general.
Check! It ain’t a bank holiday in England they just go about the day and read tomorrow a little article in their local papers or newsfeed how we (people of Northern Ireland) ran into our own sword.
If a lot of these people want to fight each other (both sides) do as they did when they took this land. Men across a field with fight/heart/strategy and ran a potential death with only a sword in hand. I can assure you they weren’t wearing facemasks/bitching/going back to mummy about what happened they died for what they believed was a legitimate reason.
One thing I know there’s very few people would turn up these days and if they did!!! Fair enough. Stay in your fields and let the rest of us progress.
Barely anyone at the Derry parade.

Good to see how this is dying out. Positive signs.
I’m used to hearing drums and flutes in the distance all over summer but that hasn’t happened since 2019 (before Covid), I haven’t encountered a single road closure, there was a parade in the town centre last week but it was so small that no closures were needed and traffic could pass almost normally, fewer flags placed out and no noticeable increased police presence, for the most part this just felt like a regular June or September week, it didn’t even get BBC Live coverage this year and isn’t the featured article on the BBC NI page, so I don’t know, it definitely feels like it’s diminished as much as other commenters are suggesting it has
Awww we deleted the helmet wanker I was having fun roasting him

Nationalism’s Jamie Bryson going low again
How many dopes are going to end up inadvertently getting themselves hurt today do we think?
Any murder at Ardoyne shops?
On a side note the crowds this year look absolutely dire even compared to 5/10 years ago. Fantastic.

This fella on the BBC news NI 12th in pictures section…
Hope everyone enjoyed the fantastic 12th of July celebrations. Great family fun day in Irvinestown for the Co. Fermanagh demonstration for me.
I see the epic meltdown and rage continued on here from the usual suspects. Judging crowds of one photo. Hahaha
This mega thread may have been the single worst idea you have ever had mods. If you’re worried about the sub getting flooded why ? It’s not like it’s regularly had high quality posts todays top post has been a picture of a rock on fb market place. This content is far more intresting
Thread too mega… 😵💫
What did you get up to or not get up to today?
Seen on the news that it was another peacefull year. As much as I would like some things to go back to what they were 20 years ago, trouble on the 12th is not one of them!
Enjoy the 12th everyone. Always a good laugh watching the nationalist lot cry on here every year. Cheers 🍻🍻
When you come out to show support, but can’t tell the difference in which parade you are at.

Wee sorcha enjoying the festivities.
Great overview about the 12th by [PoliticsJoe](https://youtu.be/2GsCmNeRZgg?si=upPjN-93_rlS6spS)!
Some wild perspectives, on one hand you’ve unionists who believe a United Ireland is going to happen or don’t care if it does, to ranting about Republicans marching around with balaclavas or how Catholics need to suck it up and attend the marches because of St Patricks Day. Also a nice wee Scottish man who wants the rules changed so Catholics can join in just like in Scotland where apparently these marches are mixed.
Interesting video!
Driving through Newry this morning and on the main Downshire road there is heavy police presence and Orangemen getting ready for parades. Genuine question of why? Newry is a predominantly nationalist town and I don’t understand why they would march here. That and the sheep bridge roundabout covered in England and Scotland flags.
I don’t get it and I’m genuinely interested in the mentality of why?
***Repost especially for Gazmac the moaning cunt***
Soooo how did your hibernation go fellow republicans?

Nice video of the Craigyhill bonfire, while the majority of bonfires did have tricolours or SF posters etc, it’s refreshing to see that not everyone sunk to the same level
Do you have lodges coming from far away for the 12th? I think that the OO in my neighbourhood in Glasgow travels there every year, and frankly it’s great not to have them around for a few days.
