Being boring is what makes you lose, a boring person isn’t going to win against trump. Just stop it Bernie.
I really miss the boring days…
the window for boring politics in america closed on 11/8/16 so biden needs to step down for someone that can actually call out trump on his bullshit
Yes. Not everything has to be a show. Most politicians seem to spend more time grandstanding and doing a skit than actually discussing policy.
Trump is a liar, fraud, racist, rapist and according to the new Epstein files released. He’s also a child molester?!… This, however, would fit the profile considering he called his own daughter a piece of ass on the Howard Stern Show long before he was president.
And if you were looking for someone to blame for the abomination, that is Trump and his entire family. Look no further than Mark Burnett, the founding father of reality tv as we know it today. Creator of both Survivor and The Apprentice. He’s the only reason why Trump is even remotely viewed as successful in today’s world.
That being said, if he is reelected, America gets what it deserves!
The same interview on YouTube if you prefer to watch it there – [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZMUrxqWS8s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZMUrxqWS8s)
While I agree in theory it would be nice but that would be super average president basically maintaining status quote like Carter.
Feel like if your good or bad your not going to be boring no way Lincoln or fdr were boring and neither were the bad ones. Goes both ways
Even if Bernie was president he wouldn’t be boring because he would be pushing for big changes which is going to require not being boring
Politics for the most part was boring until Trump brought the “show”.
Politics should be boring?
What?
Politics is the blood of every nation, you should ***burn*** with passion to be able to change things and build a better future.
Such a reasonable guy
I’m one of those people who want the boring back, but I’ve been called snowflake and weak and all sorts of stuff. But really, you can miss me with all the divisiveness & theatrics. It’s gone way too far.
Remember that to say that to live in interesting times is considered a curse in China
Yeah I did miss the days when politics were boring and not fucking insane specifically for me 1991-2001 I think you all know why I stopped at 2001
British politics is *boring* now and I’ve never been so thankful for it.
Waking up on that Friday and knowing the country was in the hands of adults was incredibly relieving – I hope Americans get to know how that feels one day.
Totally agree. Politics is not meant for entertainment. And Politicians aren’t meant to be entertainers. Trump turned politics into a three ring circus and filled his tent with people looking for a show. Clowns do that.
Make Politics Boring Again!
Politics was not ready for the impact of the internet. At all
Agree. The gamification of politics to increase TV ratings has really destroyed what should be a rather boring and mundane process of hammering out boring details.
I miss the days when I couldn’t tell you who any of the cabinet positions were held by because the Secretary wasn’t involved in some scandal, fired, or failing to be impeached by the House.
I miss the days when the biggest news stories involving the POTUS were when they met with a foreign leader to discuss strengthening relations between our countires.
I miss not legitimately wondering when, not if, the Vice President will be sworn in as President due to natural death, impeachment and removal, or assassination.
I was just saying this. I really yearn for boring politics.
Politicians should be close to invisible. The same as many other professions. They are not that different. But of course social media and the modern central media are making sure that we cannot spend a single day without worrying about political scandals and what not.
We should get back to the politics only on newspapers and dedicated channels. And people will tune in only when they feel like and not everytime they are provoked.
When it’s controlled by billionaires, it’ll be stressful.
Damn, Sanders’ age is starting to catch up with him, he’s starting to sound like a moderate 🤢
He’s right. The rest of the world pretty much understands this as their politicians are not celebrities like in America. The whole system here is broken and it’s become another form of entertainment instead of being about public service and civic duty which is *boring* but actually effective and helpful
Right? Remember when I only had to care every other year?
-sigh- I miss the good old boring days.
I really miss pre 2016 days
Says the socialist with three or four houses – while most Americans can’t afford one.
Bernie should have won nom. World would have been better off.
Not i’m not over it don’t @ me. Bidens performance as of late (and Harris’ complete absence) only vindicates me further.
I mean, it should be, but there’s no way it can be given current conditions. Americans are acting increasingly trapped because they are.
As long as rent, debt, and the growing number of cracks you can fall through are still where they are, people will pursue more radical options that even weakly pomise an alternative.
Significant reform would have to come before the pressure can come down, and holding off on it will only worsen the problem.
The one talent Trump has is generating publicity for himself- he’s spent his life being a professional celebrity- first using the NYC press to get his name out, then moving up to the national tabloids, licensing his name and face on random products like board games and steaks, and finally hosting a reality TV show. He’s spent his life famous for being famous.
As a businessman, he’s not that different from Kim Kashashian- only less financially successful.
He is a top-notch entertainer though. His campaign speeches- though often so discursive and disconnected from reality that they should raise questions about his mental health and cognitive acuity- seem less like a politician laying out policy proposals and more resemble a celebrity goofing around during a standup comedy routine.
That he’s such a ridiculous figure doesn’t make him any less dangerous- he’s superb at playing his voters’ fears and insecurities- conjuring a vision of America teetering into chaos- overrun by violent immigrants and other criminals (often compared to insects, snakes, and other animals), beset by transgender people, and undermined by liberals/Marxists/communists who defend these outsiders and look down their noses at real Americans (who need a strongman to shove aside legal niceties and moral qualms to protect them).
Voting in Trump in 2016 gave our country four years of chaos, three Supreme Court justices who replaced Roe vs Wade with abortion bans, and ended in a serious, violent attempt to overturn the election and hold on to power. Those same three Supreme Court justices have now voted to put Trump above the law- a second Trump presidency would likely be even more chaotic, more authoritarian, and likely the end of our democracy.
We can’t keep treating politics as entertainment- the stakes are too high.
THANK YOU.
Politics and policy making is where people sit down and talk about what is most beneficial for a society. It’s not a drama show, and being a politician is not meant to be a celebrity! You are a servant of the people. It’s ludicrous how egos a stroked so easily.
I’d love boring politics.
I mean it’s already boring as shit. As it should be. Honestly we should barely feel the effects of government day to do (we really don’t…)
And it should be kept that way.
Isn’t that how we got where we are, letting shit go unnoticed while politicians play fuck around with our taxes?
It is always boring
I miss the days of policy proposals being used to make a case for a candidate. That’s why Bernie was such a breath of fresh air. Policy is the point of politics but just bringing it up always gets me in trouble because I am supposed to fall in line and regurgitate talking points.
As someone who has a degree in policy, I fully agree with this. It’s only interesting when insanely shitty policy is written, or it’s written with intent to fuck a group of people over. When it’s written to define a service/good, regulate corporations on behalf of citizens, or about anything relating to the management of any government branches/services, that’s when it’s boring. I’d much rather analyze the latter to ensure the citizens are receiving the best outcome for their tax money as possible.
While legacy media would have everyone believe it’s entertainment, good government is work.
“Nothing is harder than freedom’s apprenticeship.”

Yeah. Politics always was a boring topic for bored intellectuals to discuss the speculative future of the generations of people who will be living in this country.
I have no idea why the media thought it was a good idea to turn it into some kind of super bowl like event where everybody who has any opinion at all is invited to say whatever the heck they want.
CSPAN only and cancel all the other channels.
Seriously are people just figuring this out now? Jesus fucking keee-rist
Dawg, Bernie running in 2016 was exciting and exciting shit gets people involved. Shit like that is what the Dems are sorely lacking. Bad take.
Old people are boring, so vote more of them into office.
What could be more boring than a failed, aged socialist spouting the same drivel for 50 years?
