A statement by Gav

  1. Interesting nod to the PIRA’s statement after the 1984 Brighton bombing which narrowly missed killing Margaret Thatcher. “We only need to be lucky once.”

  2. >The attempted murder of US Presidential candidate Donald Trump is a sickening effort to disrupt democracy

Unfortunately, the *election* of Donald Trump will also be a sickening effort to disrupt democracy

  3. Funny. Gavin’s predecessor and former First Minister Peter Robinson said at a rally in 1986 that there would never be peace in Northern Ireland until Gerry Adams was six feet under ground (at a meeting also attended by Ian Paisley and Jim Allister).

    Lest we forget.

  4. The person who shot him is a trumper which is weird. Did the shooter see him as a traitor or something? I’m very curious to what the shooter’s motive was.

To be honest though, I’m amazed it took this long for something like this to happen considering the rhetoric coming out of trump. Full blown civil war is what I’m expecting them to call for now.

  5. Democracy is when we murder the odds on favourite to win the election.

  6. The most important part of a democracy is not inciting insurrection where several people died in his name.

  7. I don’t see anything wrong with Gavin Robinson’s statement here tbh. Pretty sensible actually.

  8. Sadly this has handed Dumph the presidency as a near martyr I would think. Worlds royally fucked.

  9. Calling Bullshit on the Secret Service not having everywhere covered for possible shooters, the same way it was bullshit Israel not having any prior knowledge of the Hamas attacks.
Have the powers that be given up even trying to make these things believable?

  10. >a sickening effort to disrupt democracy

They may enjoy it while it lasts if Trump gets in and Project 2025 goes ahead 👀

  11. Most men of good will would rather see trump dead than elected but otherwise point taken

  12. It’s giving Facebook mum inspirational quote who has mistook PIRA quote about Thatcher as a quote from Thatcher.
