  13. Trump pissed off a lot of far-right extremists when he disavowed Project 2025. It’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility that the shooter felt betrayed by Trump and was off-kilter enough to do something like this.

    Granted, this is just speculation, but it would explain “why he would carry out an assassination attempt on the conservative candidate”.

  18. Why did the US surveillance state not catch him? This is exactly why they told us we need to give up our privacy and some of our rights to the Patriot Act and other legislation.

    And as the critics have pointed out time and time again, giving up freedom for security will result in losing both. Now, we already lost a lot of freedom to the surveillance state, and as this case shows, have not even gained security from it. It has always been about control.

  29. I don’t know if it’s true, but the inly thing I’ve read so far that makes any sense is that the shooter was obsessed with Epstein and he was taking out his revenge on Trump for being an Epstein pedo.
