Where are all the NI themed viral and interesting videos these days? So often I see articles in the paper about fights/joyriding etc. with lines like: 'the video has been widely shared on social media' yet I rarely see them.

I look at twitter, Facebook or this subreddit hoping someone will have posted said video, but it rarely happens.

There used to be a Facebook page (possibly called Belfast at its finest) that would share videos of spides and steeks embarrassing themselves in public etc but all it has now is that awful trend of some annoying person 'interviewing' asking some inane question to which a randomer gives an equally dull answer which is then passed off as 'content'.

There is an article today in the Bel Tel about a fight on 12th July which has screenshots from a video yet I can't find the video anywhere. A few weeks ago some guy filmed himself in the aftermath of assaulting a Translink inspector. Can't see it anywhere either. Surel there is some page that all this interesting stuff shows up on!? This stuff must just be going around Whats App and doesn't make it online half the time.

TLDR: where can I find videos of local people acting like eejits?

  3. Why do you need to see them? How does it benefit you? – in reality it doesn’t.

    It’s kind of like ppl who get addicted to gore/violent videos, it triggers physiological responses that are not healthy for an individual to be honest.

  10. Anything 12th related is confined to the Megathread.

    Videos like the assault of the train conductor or last year an assault on a minor in Newry outside a night club are removed when there’s an ongoing legal case or likely to be one that we’d rather avoid being the cause of bother over.

    On occasion we also get individuals reaching out to us that are either featured in the videos or who are speaking on behalf of those that are in them and we make a judgment on each case, for example someone vulnerable being shared without their consent.

    We have also had people go over our heads to Reddit legal to get things removed, which we have no say over. It does set a tone though and we have to strike a balance of allowing the craic and staying on the right side of the admins.

  15. It used to be you only filmed something if it was interesting or funny, now there are thousands of 30 second clips of any old shite.
