  1. I hope this poor baby ended up in an animal shelter. Unfortunately, the doe usually rejects her fawn when she smells human on it.

    Edit.

Why do I get so many downvotes? My father in law is a forrester by profession and not only him, but all professionals says, it is forbidden to touch the babies.

Here is an article about it:
” The conservationist emphasized that while a fawn lying in a field may appear very cute, innocent, and abandoned, it is important to understand that this is a completely normal situation for a young deer. The doe leaves her fawn temporarily while she goes to feed, but she will return to nurse it. However, if hikers approach the lonely fawn and pet it, they are condemning it to death with their touch because the mother, sensing the human scent on it, will not continue to care for her offspring.’

Thereare other articles, just google ‘petting a wild fawn’.

  2. Amazing that it doesnt run off. Those are quite shy animals that tend to avoid humans if possible.

  3. Please don’t do this, fawns are left by their parents for almost whole day because that is a form of protection from predators. Baby fawns don’t have a smell of their own so they are safe for as long as they lay low. Now that baby should be took to some form od animal shelter because it was infested with human smell so mother will reject it. Please just dont touch wild if they have no wounds or any visual injuries.
