  1. She’s ‘obviously’ rightly being sentenced here, what kind of psychopath do you have to be to go through with such a plan.

That said, I’d like to see an investigation into Porsche and how their practices may have, and by extension may continue, to push people this hard.

Edit: corpo simps, all of you.

  2. She should move to the U.S. If Trump gets reelected, he could put her on the Supreme Court.

  3. Deliberately causing harm to a baby (or indeed any child) is a level of evil that should result in prison with no chance of release. To murder your own new born baby is just unfathomable. Pure evil.

  4. Sounds to me like postpartum psychosis could be a possibility in this case.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postpartum_psychosis

It’s a taboo subject for many (since new mothers tend to be idolized in many cultures) but giving birth does crazy things to a person and mothers hurting, or in some cases even killing their own babies is sadly not that uncommon. Many times people try to rationalise the act and look for evil motives but the real culprit is often a lack of knowledge and support.

And for clarity; I have way too little information about this case to say that postpartum psychosis is the cause in this case, just that there are many similarities.

  5. The old and good German justice…she got only 7.5 years of prison term.

  6. “According to court testimony, she had secretly given birth at home on 12 September, ten months before the incident.“

“The minutes-old baby had sustained fatal injuries.”

“Hoech claimed Jovanovic was unaware of her pregnancy and overwhelmed by the sudden birth”

Was the baby minutes old or 10 months old? I’m confused.

  7. From her LinkedIn:

    > Do something today that you can be proud of tomorrow!

  8. News like these upset me because you just **know** this isn’t close to the full story, and we’re all passing judgement on this woman.

I’ve never heard or seen a woman attempt to kill their child if they weren’t literally psychotic. The whole “to not upset her career as middle.management at Porsche” sounds like a bombastic reason that someone took with and ran, but is otherwise almost implausible.

  9. Throwing babies out of windows to keep your career going constitutes first degree murder imho. but ianal, so there’s that.

  10. If only she killed them in the womb it would be totally fine.

  11. This is a typical yellow press article topic, and should not be in r/europe.

  12. It seems the comments are treating this as a lesser crime because the victim was only a few minutes old. This is a standard regular murder, it’s no different than throwing a 70 year old out of a window. The punishment for this should be the same as murder. By German law it seems she was given a shockingly light sentence.

  13. For those that don’t want to read the article: she got 7 and a half years in prison. The sentencing crime was manslaughter.

  14. She wasn’t some kind of high profile employee at Porsche. She was barely an employee and not a prospect for a “leadership” career – that story is bs. She dropped out of law university, took a lesser value degree to then start at Porsche. She maybe didn’t realize she’s pregnant. Maybe she had a psychosis. But she still killed her child. Her sentence is mild for that

  15. “Oh sorry hun, you disturb my self fulfillment”

    Baby goes yeet…
