  18. Any American traveling there, or to the DPRK should get some warning in advance that says “If you go there, and something happens, you are on your own.”

    I assume they actually *do* get that, but if not, they should.

  19. If you are a westerner going to hostile places as far as im concerned you are on your own. Why should your homecountry have to give something like a prisoner or some favourable agreement for your lack of insight.

    Taliban took over in 2021. I bet Glezmann’s mental health wasn’t at high point to begin with, given he decided to travel to Afghanistan after that.

  23. Geesh this is a “play stupid games” scenario. I was out of college starting a career in the early 90s when they little by little started eroding women’s rights until that final “ok evybody! You ladies go home!” Doctors, teachers, scientists, government workers…all home, can’t leave without a male escort and oh, don’t forget to cover up head to toe in your burqua so no one gets tempted! 2024 and here we are again. No one should go there, give any attention, instagram photos, social media or MONEY to them at all. No pity for these idiots.

  27. I’m excited for my tax dollars to now be spent on partisan political bickering over this and eventually our military being used to extract these two people who should be left there.

    I believe people should have the freedom to go where they please and explore any country they want. But that freedom comes with responsibility. You can’t go to a country that openly hates America and be upset when your arrested and used as a political pawn.

  35. I have zero sympathy for people who go to countries where they absolutely hate us & get detained & we have to trade prisoners for them.
