I 1998 blev Det grønne renseanlæg bygget. Anlægget renser både mosevandet og kloaknettets spildevand inden dette ledes ud i mosen. Når vandet løber igennem anlægget, optages og omdannes de forurenende næringsstoffer i et lag af grus og kalk samt i rødderne på de plantede tagrør. Herved fjernes 300-400 kg næringsstoffer fra vandet om året. For at gavne renseprocessen bliver anlægget ind imellem tørlagt, så rødder kan iltes.

Don’t tell the Swedes, tho… We need them to willingly visit Copenhagen.
