If you take out houses recently vacated, awaiting new tenants or currently being repaired, how many is it? I’m guessing it’s a tiny and the majority will have some reason too.
The more you read about the situation the more overblown it is.
Out of 11,000 there are 348 not currently occupied.
When you take out the number ‘under repair’ that drops to 226, or about 2% of the total stock being not occupied and not under repair.
The article suggests that some of these may require modernisation, separate from needing repair, but doesn’t provide a figure here.
Friend of mine lives in a social housing estate.
Across the road from her, there’s a house, with the one either side boarded up.
She told me there’s always fucking murders whenever a new family is moved into either house beside the occupied one, so the council just leave them empty to avoid the inevitable hassle.
Mad that that shit is allowed.
There’s one by the fair field vacant years were on the list 7 years I’d move in in the morning
