>Today, the Museum of Genocide Victims called for giving up the new house of Xhafer Ibrahim Deva in Kosovska Mitrovica, estimating that he is a war criminal from the Second World War and that this procedure rightly causes public anxiety and concern.
>A statement from the Museum of Genocide Victims said that the “shameful and anti-civilization” procedure under the auspices of the UNDP, the European Union and the so-called Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Kosovo was particularly worrying and disturbing.
According to the Museum of Genocide Victims, the conversion of that facility into a regional center for cultural activities in Kosovska Mitrovica at least arouses suspicion of non-Albanian communities in the sincerity of the project “Cultural Heritage as a Driving Force for Inter-Community Dialogue and Social Cohesion”.
>The whole procedure is an attempt to base the process of reconciliation between the Albanian and other non-Albanian communities on the fact that the example of harmonious, tolerant and peaceful interethnic life in Kosovo and Metohija is a person whose deeds during World War II were anything but a driving force between communities and their social cohesion, “the statement said.
>Due to the direct participation of Xhafer Ibrahim Deva in the preparation and execution of crimes in Kosovo and Metohija during 1944 against the Serb and Jewish population, the Museum of Genocide Victims states that the UNDP decision to support the establishment and placement of a regional cultural center in that person’s house is inappropriate.
Thats nothing new from the west. Support of fascists in the Balkans was always “justified” or downplayed because on the other side you had a functional socialist state Yugoslavia. Then it was always justified because on the other side it was the Serbs who were historical friends of Russia.
