  1. So climate change will suck but at least the days will be longer.

  2. is this why it doesn’t get dark until 8:50-9:00 now

  3. -From the Article-
“Between the year 1900 and today, climate has caused days to become around 0.8 milliseconds longer — and under the worst-case scenario of high emissions, climate alone would be responsible for making days 2.2 milliseconds longer by the year 2100, compared to the same baseline.”

  4. Is this why this fucks in the US Project 2025 BS have been talking about eliminating overtime?

  5. They are talking about milliseconds.  Not enough to impact humans but can impact stuff in orbit.

  6. From the article:

    >Between the year 1900 and today, climate [change] has caused days to become around 0.8 milliseconds longer

    And:

    >A currently more significant cause of slowdown is the gravitational pull of the Moon, which pulls on the oceans in a process called “tidal friction” that has caused a gradual deceleration of 2.40 milliseconds per century

    I wouldn’t call it unprecedented.

  7. Does this mean that when they send probes into deep space they end up at the wrong place? Oh well, just a thought, could happen I guess.

  8. Extra time in bed is what I’ll use my extra milliseconds for lol.

In all honesty though, we really do need to do something about climate change. It’s very evident now and you can actually physically see the changes. Our seasons are certainly getting noticeably more extreme in the 30 odd years I’ve been alive.

  9. What I find interesting, is that a major climate science denial talking point was that the ice isn’t really melting.

The entire Earth’s spin rate is changing bro. Maybe NASA know more than your conspiracy blogger.

  10. Longer days meaning the other side can have longer nights? 👀

  11. Sorry but how does this increase shareholder value?

    /s

  12. So glad I don’t have kids to witness the incoming horror show.

  13. Junque science. 2.2 milliseconds. Thats 1/500th of a second. Every 75 years. So basically, in 37,500 years, an entire second will be added to the day.
75 years from now, 2 milliseconds added. So, 75 years times 500. There’s your solution!
