NATO Finally Plays Hardball With Putin!
is NATO finally playing hard ball against Russia in the negotiation to end the war I’m Paul US Army Combat veteran let’s talk about it okay so this is in response to the recent NATO Summit that took place uh I know numerous news stories have derailed this entire thing but we are here to talk about it and first off I thought one of the biggest takeaways from this was actually the change in rhetoric by NATO countries right and NATO has done a good job in this uh crisis over the last 2 and a half years of really banding together negotiating as largely a single block there’s still some issues you still have orbon on his peace plan 6.0 uh but by and large NATO countries have operated closer in lock step than they have in many many years but more than that we’re also seeing NATO countries step up their own uh spend right their own defense spending so here’s what I thought was was the biggest takeaway to me right first off NATO announced a long-term commit commitment of security assistance to Ukraine uh confirming the establishment of a new NATO Center aimed at ensuring Ukraine gets a more reliable flow of arms and training for members of The Alliance right a huge Boon as individual countries make these commits commitments um it can result in a sort of whiplash right for example if the C and the French don’t coordinate their aid Ukraine may go months without any artillery shells from either one and then suddenly get two massive deliveries and Ukraine says this is this is not just not just logistically tough for us this is now actually tactically a liability to have you know warehouses and warehouses full of artillery shells that Russia can strike whereas it would have been better if there was some level of smoothing and coordinating right so this just makes sense it’s also a signal to Russia again about that NATO is committed to a to this fight long term as we know that one of Putin’s strategies is to wait out the West uh his belief that Russia as an autocracy is not going to be subject to elections and won’t have the same sort of pivots that a western country does um but the more NATO sort of uh demonstrates its absolute commitment uh regardless of who’s in charge the less Putin can rely on that strategy right but there’s even more announcements that I thought were even most significant and it’s right here a collective statement by all alliance members said quote Ukraine’s future is in NATO they said quote we will continue to support it on its irreversible path to full Euro Atlantic integration including NATO membership right so this is a they couldn’t quite say path to full EU integration because they’re not the EU they can’t speak for that organization but this is a huge statement right the alliance welcomes Ukraine Democratic economic and security reforms needed to join instead would get an invitation quote when allies agree and conditions are met but this is what I thought this is what makes this interesting is that if you read this statement you know that this is a huge f to Putin right we’ve talked earlier about how Putin has rolled out his own what he is calling a Eurasian security architecture right and uh this is part of of Putin sort of not quite anti- but a uh you can see here from uh Tas a Russian new source new Eurasian security architecture is overdue and this is part of Putin’s campaign to bring in uh such respectable countries like North Korea China uh as well as more neutral and Democratic countries like India into his kind of uh what he’s calling his Eurasian security architecture so the fact that they are calling their own not just NATO not just the EU but a Euro Atlantic integration um is really positioning is is Not an Accident it is a a direct Target to to Putin’s sort of campaign of his own and the idea of course is that if you are a NATO member it it looks or a non-n member you want to look at Putin’s sort of managerie of of uh of villains here and say who which country do I want to emulate more the extremely wealthy extremely prosperous and extremely capable NATO what NATO is trying to project or a sort of dictator’s Alliance right of uh people like xan Ping uh famous for running uh a series of uh of extermination camps for Muslims in his country or Putin who invades his neighbors for no reason and then kills uh hundreds of thousands of his own citizens in this useless War uh or people like North Korea uh the hermit Kingdom with uh again a almost comical lack of respect for human rights uh a total International Pariah and so the idea is that you they’re really trying to signal to Putin not just that we are the ogs of the Eurasian security architecture um but that Putin or that Ukraine is firmly on the way to Nato membership and not just that that it is an inevitability now do I actually think it’s an inevitability that Ukraine become a NATO member on any given timeline I don’t think so right but that’s not what’s important what’s important in understanding this is that this is part of the negotiation that we’ve talked about right we’ve talked about how Putin has said oh you guys want a ceasefire oh well I need Ukraine to basically surrender its entire Eastern all of its entire Eastern oblasts uh before and and and disband its entire military before we start negotiations for a peace deal right which is absolutely comically absurd and so for a long time the West was like no we want we just want sincere negotiations right they’re sitting just just over here just just to the left to Center which is where they sincerely probably are and they’re finally starting to say actually I think if we want Putin to come to the table we need to ramp up our own rhetoric now Putin has the advantage of an a as of as an autocrat he just straight lies he knows that Ukraine laying down its entire military is not really an option right he’s just saying I’m not interested in a ceasefire right now NATO can sit there and go okay we can play this game too what is the worst case scenario what is the nightmare scenario for Putin well the answer is it’s already kind of playing out he has more NATO countries sitting on his borders and so so they may sit there and go hey you know who else is going to be a NATO member Ukraine it’s going to happen by the way it’s happening it’s it is a done deal once this war ends we’re going to bring them right in oh and we’re going to bring them into other Euro Atlantic Integrations like the EU and other trade agreements and so Putin’s going damn because remember his goal at the outset of this war was to wipe away the pro Western regime in Kev and replace it with Russian puppets who would ensure that Ukraine remained firmly locked in the Russian sphere of influence that they would look like bellus or Moldova and the fact that the the West is now sitting there and saying hey Ukraine’s integration in the west it’s going to be way over here Putin this is where we’re at right now it’s it’s going to be they’re going to be [ __ ] France okay they’re going to be like like like Spain dude people are going to be vacation like they’re like yo londoners are going to vacation they’re going to have vacation homes in Odessa dude like that’s how that’s how European they’re going to be okay like travel show Netflix travel shows are going to be filmed in Ukraine okay that and that for Putin is is the nightmare scenario because it means again that a military economic political and even cultural block is going to come right up to P to Russia’s borders destroying his dream of the rusky Mir right the the the the larger expanded noo Russian Empire now here’s the thing does NATO really think that that’s imminent I think probably not Ukraine still has a long way to go there’s a lot of corruption institutions are still very much developing I think Ukraine sometimes a a a a deep crisis that forces a country to be bound together can actually if you can survive it uh can produce a national identity and character that can really supercharge a country right it’s hard to steal from the Ukrainian government if you or your son or your daughter or your brother uh fought and and were wounded or sacrificed years of your life to fight in a visceral way for that country uh so I say those things because it is a sometimes that can actually in the long term I have this is my theory reduce corruption or reduce the incentive for corruption because people kind of have to live like I’d say talk their values if that makes sense but at the end of the day sometimes you’re like listen I I I did all this stuff for Ukraine how can I steal from it or betray it or uh Ed another office for personal gain right so it it may be faster than we think but it is still its membership is a lot further off than Ukraine is indicating and what I think or than NATO is indicating and what I think they NATO is trying to do is stake its own position way out there so that way when the West kind of acknowledges cuz let’s be honest the West has to make some concessions if they want this if Putin believes the West has to make some sort of concession the West believes Putin has to make some kind of concession Ukraine believes both sides are going to have to make everybody’s going to have to give something to get to a peace deal and the F the more sort of space you take up on in the Spectrum the more things you can give up so for example NATO may say listen we realistically that privately they may say there’s no way it’s Ukraine is going to need at least 5 years to build out the military uh governmental um and economic infrastructure to become a a NATO member and so but if your if your talk says they’re going to be a member as soon as the ink is dry then when you negotiate with Putin you may say well you know what Vlad okay okay you drive a hard bargain five years we guarantee five years Ukraine won’t be a NATO member and Putin goes I got him I drove that bargain but in fact it was never really in the cards anyway but the only way you can achieve those kind of of negotiation wins is by staking out your positions as far as possible and right now and the problem is the further away you get at some point you’re so far away in negotiations that actually both sides are like I don’t think we can talk yet I don’t think we’re ready to talk so you have to kind of play this game this is why it’s so hard because you even if both sides are like we actually could end up as close close together privately we both need to signal that we’re as far away as possible but we we also want to not create the perception that there’s an uncrossable Gulf between the sides and remember it’s extra hard because I’m using this like two sides a spectrum it’s not Ukraine is another actor and NATO itself is not one actor right they’re doing a better job of behaving like one but they’re not right Germany has way different economic Rel has a way different economic relation ship with Russia then say the UK or or the United States right so the US may say F Russian oil F Russian natural gas we don’t need any of that stuff go pound sand Putin Germany may be saying whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa we’ve got to get some guarantees in this agreement because if we don’t get Russian natural gas and oil our economy is going to go to [ __ ] so you see how imagine doing this but with 15 different players 20 different players it’s very hard this is why this is why the state department has so many stinking people right and why they recruit all those nerds it’s because it takes an army of nerds to figure this stuff out anyway guys if you are interested in getting access to some uncensored combat footage uh from the front lines sometimes as little as 48 Hours old and you want The far right went over the edge a long time ago. That is why no intelligent people are voting for them anymore. Democrats are not all saints. But they at least stand up for the Democratic process.
I'm sure he's quaking in his slippers, what a load of dribble 😂
8:19 Paul's energy in today's video clocks in at 11 out 10. Edit: Place an order for some STRIKEGUM and this could be you as well.
Because they know the Trump train is coming!
Paul natang bit nong ning butango nit nong nit usa nit nato nit European Union oolang songo tsongo nit nok nitinong ulong,, 😢 si sulong nitin nong si sulong nongi nit nulong ngongo 😅😮😊 dude..
Btw, I don't think NATO will ever concede territories to Putin, because I don't think the plan of NATO is defeating Russia in the front, or making any peace deal. NATO is supporting Ukraine not "as long as it takes to make Ukraine win" but "as long as it takes to make the Z regime fall". And that outcome is much better for Ukraine and for NATO than "simply" Ukraine winning. NATO knows that NATO has much more capacity to endure this conflict much more time than Russia, so NATO simply keeps this conflict "alive"… knowing Russia won't stand this very long internally.
Moldova is not fully under Russia control. It's a independent republic. The Russian have a bit of Moldova called Transnistria as a 1992 cease – fire agreement. That the Russian have a so called peacekeeping force of 1,200 military presence in there.
I remember a guy that Putin didn’t dare mess with. Matter of a fact he’s running for President again. Weird how Ukraine has only lost territory while Bidens is 1st or 2nd in command, but when Putins “puppet&best friend” is in office, not another an inch of Ukraine was touched. Instead he waited until the guy who let him take Crimea, came back in power.
Corruption….I can think of a few NATO members who don’t and never have had a serious anti corruption state of being.
Of course NATO has the upper hand without a doubt
Thank You!!!
Slava ukraine 🇺🇦❤️
Let's be honest here…. Putin is waiting for trump to be re-elected, and if that happens, he will not stop!
NATO should say that no peace talks can begin until Putin steps down and stands trial for his war crimes.
It’s really disappointing to see that even a person like Paul, who has been educated by the army, still lacks awareness of what’s going on around the world. Awareness of how the world is outside the American bubble. Not a surprise to be honest, it is extremely hard having philosophical and reasonable conversations with American people.
Can't understand why certain countries have not spoken in the ear of Modi. India would run a mile from Russia
Putler didnt care about NATO expansion to what he calls "his backyard", but EU expansion, successful, wealthy democracies ends dictatorship. Minimal pension in rural rus is 100$ a month, its crazy. He wants them to sacrifice well being to have imperialism- while he has a gold bowel in bathroom and everything at his castle comes from europe. 😀
Russia validates the existence of NATO.
Allies and axis
Ukraine has a corruption problem .. Trump said – hold my beer – I'll show you what REAL corruption is. 'Merican way. F'yeah
8:21 mann you are rocker i love you mann
I am your comic relief. But I still want all these things from the Strike Gum Catalogue.
When I see believe that some people actually believe this stuff and think like this. It makes me sad for the whole world. O boy do these people have a lot to learn.
I disagree with a lot of your takes here. The entire entity of NATO is at risk if Trump gets re elected… not hating, I just feel like that’s the most likely scenario out of all of this.
It is called b.r.i.c.s. Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. There own alliance.
Thanks!
Ukraine has earned its place in NATO. Putin's war has had the opposite effect to what he wanted. He wanted to push back NATO, but what he has actually achieved is Sweden and Finland already in NATO, and Ukraine on the path to NATO membership.
It is like the 1930's, when the NAZI regime invaded Poland thinking that no one would fight for them. He despised the Poles so much he assumed everyone else also despised them, AH appears to have been surprised that by the end of the day Britain, Australia, and New Zealand had already declared war on Germany, and other countries would do the same within days.
Like AH, Putin so despised the Ukrainians he was certain no one would come to their aid in any serious way. Boy, was he wrong.
Putin thinks trump will dump nato if he is president. But he won't. Can't really.
As a matter of fact, nothing has changed, they gathered once again, promised various things "this time for sure" and left.
I have seen a news outlet reporting DJT has gone behind NATOS back and started talking with the leader of Hungry, to stop funding Ukraine. A meeting was held in Florida. That worries me
Dude after all this time talking about Ukraine and you didnt understanding much . Putin never gave a rats S about NATO expansion, NATO was on their door step from the starr , Turkey and US borders Russia, okay ?
Putin doesn't want a democratic, prosperous Ukraine, deeply connected to the west . Itwill be a mortal danger for him , russians would want the same things and that would be the end of him. Putin is not scared of NATO but of his own people. Btw you geopolitics sucks, Modova is not like Belarus, is a candidate for EU membership like Ukraine. You don't bekive Ukraine will be accepted in NATO after the war ? Maybe you need a,better hobby than this channel, you are clueless. Ukraine doesn't need NATO you nimrod , but NATO does need Ukraine, its the strongest, most combat proven military in Europe and what better buffer zone for Europe than a Ukraine in NATO . You are a disappointment
im with ucrain
alot of uniformed brainwashed people on here, including the author. can any one say why RU actually went into ukraine
after pleading with the western states for 0ver 10 years to stop, and the ukrainians to stop
all the uninformed, and the author, Stop what, please tell the truth, not the made up truth
Without the U.S., NATO would be stronger and the U.S. would need to make a treaty with NATO.
the germans are in a tough spot .
The big problem is the U.S.
"We still have issues like Orban and his peace plan" lmao
Just where would NATO find a hard ball they have had no balls for years, the rice farmers have armed themselves so are no longer a viable enemy and the bastards fight back breaking the world based rules would you believe it.
Which Ukrainians does this program favor?eastern, or western?
You do realize many eastern Ukrainians are fighting for the Russian army
I don't know if you read these comments after the fact but I would like to see a discussion with several knowledgeable people about the actual level of corruption in detail in Ukraine compared with for example corruption in the United States or Germany or other European countries in the European union. Part of the discussion should also be about the amount of corruption in Ukraine that has been fostered by Russian agents and actors specifically to keep Ukraine from looking palatable to the organizations they would really like to join. Also I would like to hear the comparison of poroshenko and zelensky who both have been working against corruption in their administrations and I would like someone who is really an expert on the corruption of Ukraine by Russian agents to be in on the discussion because it's a point of view we are never treated to
By the way, I'm a newer listener and really enjoy hearing your unique perspective based on your personal experiences so I thank you very much!
This would leapfrog the United States with the possible chance of JD as VP since he's Anti-Ukraine
I've seen an odd buzz of small European countries stating…. about 300 million $ gifts to ukraine… 60 or 70 billion used to be the number debated… now its who gonna match 300 mil
Reminds me of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere – An empire trying to look like they are trying to be mutually beneficial. Question is: who is the empire? Russia or China?
