* We were marching towards European unity and not towards European disunity
* Majority of people lived well
* Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok didn’t?exist
* Climate crisis didn’t exist
* Italy was a proudly European country and not a shithole
* Masks, distancing and Green Passes were nothing more than dystopian fiction
Good old times 😢 Everytime I think of the current state of the world and of my country, I just want to cry 😭 Everything io so bad and depressed now…
I doubt it will ever get better. It’s all downhill from here
Happy birthday!
This was the very genesis of Brexit. The beginning of the split in the Tory party, the rise of UKIP and Farage etc. It all started here with the way the birth of the EU was handled by the UK government.
All they had to do was make it legitimate with a referendum, however John Major could not do that because he thought the majority of Britons would vote against it. So he went for the “force it down their throats” approach.

And it just never went away.
