  1. Yes, let us unite as a nation and defeat Trump and the weirdo, sadist goon squad supporting him once and for all.

  2. Trump rapes children. He’s kind of among the worst of humanity.

  3. Unity is a pipe dream. If you support him, you support racism, rape, pedophilia, theft, and hate. The time for unity has passed.

  4. What kind of person wants a proven pedo fraudster rapist to represent themselves and their country?

  5. It just means stand back, stand by, and get ready to murder for your fuhrer.

  6. Unity will be the momentary call out when someone says anything negative about trump. Of course trump and the republicans won’t actually dial down their rhetoric. They will just use it to play victim when someone points out how shitty they are.

  7. I’ll unify when 99% of the country has the common sense to decide that a felon, fraud and traitor is permanently unworthy of the powers of the Presidency.

  8. I’m tired of them playing this tactic. I wish dems would stop taking the “high road”. The other party has no morals, no dignity and it’s “rules for thee but not for me” is sickening. I’m over it. Fight
    Back

  9. That ship has sailed. There is no way that I can be unified with people that support racism, homophobia, rolling back the rights of women and “alternative facts”.

  10. “Unity”…?

Unity requires compromise, discussion, and agreement. How are you going to ever gain compromise out of a political party who’s stance lies in banning abortion and advocating for religion in state government?

How could you ever compromise with a group of people who are convinced they are acting on behalf of a god’s will?

That party has an absolutionist stance with no room for compromise, and has consistently proven to act in bad faith. To them, “Unity” means “follow our rule”.

Forget it. There’s no unity to be found here. Go vote them out

  11. Apparently, unity means the Democrats can no longer speak the truth about Trump.

  12. You can’t be asking for unity when you have been advocating for violence to destroy the core principle of the country.

It is basically violence for me not for thee, while they the one carrying out and not owning their own violence

  13. Trump is a cowardly, anti-American, white nationalist, fear mongering, rapist, con artist, convict, scumbag bent on the tearing down American Democracy.

Why would I unify with that?

  14. Look at what he did to us! Like millions of people, even in families see each other as enemies. He did that.

And don’t give me that both sides shit. It’s a lie.

  15. Him being shot at doesn’t change the fact that project 2025 is a disaster waiting to happen.

  16. So, President Trump. What do you think about the Jan 6th rioters threatening to kill politicians now?

  17. Honestly, forget the multiple rape accusations, the racism, the lying, the insurrection and attempt to kill his VP, the fact this guy completely bungled Covid which resulted in the deaths of over a million Americans is the worst of all. How this is not brought up daily is mind boggling. All he had to do is take it seriously and follow the advice of people who knew what they were talking about.

He is an absolute POS human being.

  18. The entire GOP platform is based on division. They don’t want to share the country with people who don’t look, act, and believe exactly as they do. There’s no unity when this is the reality of one side. There’s no unity when they feel they get to define what an American is supposed to be. They are simply gaslighting again because the violence they constantly call for was visited upon them instead of a black kid or a teen age girl or a trans person.

  19. Facts.

Shot or unshot, Trump’s a pedophile fascist rapist fraud felon.

    Being shot doesn’t erase that.

  20. Let the fascists rule so they don’t hurt you… Sure

  21. Just because another Republican shot at him doesn’t change his status as a felon.

It does mean that Trump will rule as a more horrific tyrant than we could even imagine.

  22. Trump was never about “unity” and I can see him implementing his revenge on anyone that he feels got in his way, once he is president again (and this time they are planning on getting ride as many people and checks on power as possible. So it’s way more likely he will get his way)

    Edit
And him getting shot (the bullet grazed him) doesn’t erase the past nor do I believe it changed him, for the better. Nor do I believe it will change his future plans. Project 2025 and Agenda 47 are going to happen once he becomes president.

  23. I‘m unified in my opposition to Donald Trump and everything he represents. I‘m good with that.

  24. He’s still the same lying idiot, but with a hole in his ear.

  25. We can unite to kick that dipshit and his entire family to the curb. That’s the unity I’m for.

  26. I don’t want to unite with those who want to take away the rights of LGBT people or hell even want us dead. Not gonna hold hands and sing Kumbaya with someone who thinks I’m a lesser human or that I deserve to die because of who I am.

  27. [Anand Giridharadas had a great piece on “unity” today.](https://the.ink/p/against-unity)

    > “When you’re raising chickens, and they’re routinely being killed by hawks, you don’t need unity. You need a scarecrow, maybe, and some mesh netting, and perhaps to hang up some flashy objects.

    > What the Unity Statement is attempting to reach for is worthy and righteous. But we must find a way to deplore political violence and call for a nobler, more dignified politics that doesn’t erase reality, deny causation, whitewash recent history, and give a free pass to those who have brought the American republic to this brink.”

  28. trump should have been in a holding cell on January 7, 2021

  29. The first step in actually uniting the country would be to admit to the attempted coup, and promise the GOP would.never again undermine democracy to their own ends.

But neither he, the GOP, or their cultists would ever do that.

This country is forever fractured. There’s no going back.
