1. Tell that to the republicans who twice voted down meaningful reforms.

2. Its shameful politicians focus on a global security threat than worrying about how the person who works in your business, mows your lawn, and cleans your house got into the country?

   The last thing Republican politicians want is for the border to really be made secure. They just want to use it to scare people.

4. What’s “shameful” is how Republicans have no real policy or plans other than gaining power and personal wealth, then keeping it.

9. The border issues in EU are partly caused by Russia. Do wonder if they have a hand in the border issues in USA too. I doubt they are entirely unrelated.

   Russia sows chaos and instability anywhere it can to create space for people like JD Vance so it can achieve it’s ends. Want more vote Trump/Vance

11. JD Vance was announced as the ‘running mate’ for Trump at the party convention, the Republican convention this year is mid-July (aka right now thru the weekend).

    He is currently a first-term Senator who started out being anti-Trump but figured out his best chance of gaining his (now) Senate seat was to be all-in FOR Trump, and here we are.

    He did previously have some law experience and has worked as a political staffer (but not as a politician himself prior to this term).

    It’s hard to say what his personal views are, but he certainly has no problem echoing Trump / populist positions and/or prompting his audience with talking points that get everyone worked up, this border v. Ukraine nonsense being one example.

    Keep in mind that Republicans in Congress have voted down border deals, one which included 99% of what they’ve been salivating after for decades and blamed Biden (who had announced he was willing to sign it). His question is intended for low-information crowds at rallies, it bears no resemblance to reality.
