9. If what Vance says it true or not doesn’t matter. This is NOT an example of “extreme political rhetoric”. If it is then the bar is set so low than political debate is dead in Britain.

Obviously Vance’s comments were horseshit for a variety of reasons, but the rhetoric from the probable next Vice President is a teeny tiny little bit concerning given the reliance on the US in the UK’s nuclear weapons program. Almost certainly nothing will change, but there’s quite a lot that could change which could be damaging. The UK manufactures its nuclear weapons (which are probably a blend of UK and US design) but uses a lot of American components and materials in the warheads and uses Trident unaltered. All of that reliance is basically for cost effectiveness reasons – there’s no question that we could manufacture them completely independently if we chose to, but it would be more costly in the long term (France’s very similar nuclear program costs them twice what ours does annually) and even more costly in CAPEX terms initially.

    I think if I were the government listening to rhetoric like this I’d be pondering what could be done to reduce the impact of the US refusing to co-operate on nuclear programs any more, just as a bit of hedging. Like I say, almost certainly nothing will change…but then again in the last Trump term they pulled a lot of populist bullshit that was actively harmful to their allies just to win points with their base, and nothing is sacred anymore. Relatively speaking there’s not a huge amount of danger – we already manufacture our warheads, and we own 46 life-extended Trident missiles that don’t need replacing until 2042…but perhaps putting a small amount of time and money into planning for things like bringing Trident maintenance or tritium production and so on back in house might cut the amount of time and money that would be spent in a hurry later if the worst should happen.

14. Well just under 40% of pupils in primary and secondary schools are from “minorities”. The vast majority of our migration is from Islamic countries, so is objectively true that the uk will be Islamic in the next 50-60 years.

    Hilarious the left want mass migration yet try to pretend the demographic changes aren’t happening.

18. No one cares what American politicians say anymore. They’ve long since lost any moral authority when it comes to opinions on anything outside of the US. They consider ignorance a virtue. Republicans think Democrats are idiot elitists and Democrats think Republicans are idiot rednecks. The rest of the world rolls their eyes every time one of them makes a pronouncement.

    …and yet we still don’t hate Americans as much as Americans do.
