There’s a bubble of them on X and a few other platforms just egging this on and on. It’s a parallel universe where they’ve basically taken every thread from US political conflicts and conspiracy theory apply it.
The number of far right Americans chiming in trying to save Ireland from the Irish is just bizarre. There’s the odd British far right voice in the mix too but it’s mostly Trump supporting accounts from what I can see.
I haven’t seen their private groups but I would assume their Telegram channels are probably off the scale entirely.
I’m convinced a lot of the more radical nationalist politicians in the west stride around saying this nonsense because the moderate nature of western politics emboldens them.
You can’t stoop to their level and argue with them because a liar/conspiracy theorist’s only move is to keep moving the goalposts. But you also can’t just sit back and watch it happen (which I fear is what a lot of western governments do).

I’d say he’ll be a pain in the arse in any meetings that are held during his term.

Just watched a snapchat video from a girl I somewhat know (barely) who was at the protest. She was recording a man with a megaphone ranting at the guards something something covid something quarantine camp something something constitutional rights. She then started screaming that the guards are letting these foreign men rape and stab us. Bizarre watch
They’re so desperate for political drama like the US. Everything they say is a direct repeat of what nutjob US republicans and conspiracy theorists have been spouting for the last few years. It’s embarrassing. They haven’t got an original thought among themselves.
