Zelenskyy: Ukraine develops own long-range weapons amid Western approval hesitation to deep strike Russia

  1. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that striking with long-range weapons inside Russia is still an “unpopular decision” among the allies and that’s why Ukraine is bolstering its own deep-strike capabilities

  2. Good. Hope those weapons are very effective at destroying Russian military vehicles, ships, important factories, that bridge that connects Crimea and Russia and especially military bases.

  3. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://euromaidanpress.com/2024/07/16/zelenskyy-ukraine-develops-own-long-range-weapons-amid-western-approval-hesitation-to-deep-strike-russia/) reduced by 80%. (I’m a bot)

    > This comes as the US and some other allies allowed Ukraine to strike Russia near the Ukrainian border but not deep into its territory, limiting Ukrainian ability to hit critical Russian infrastructure and air bases used to launch attacks on Ukrainian cities.

    > Zelenskyy noted Ukraine has been developing its own deep-strike capabilities, including drones, in response to the delays and will use its own weapons if the allies do not grant full permission.

    > US limits Ukraine's strike range to prevent broader conflict, says Pentagon Yermak: lifting weapon restrictions deep within Russian territory would be a game-changer No change in US weapon restrictions for Ukraine after Russia's attack on Kyiv hospital, Kirby says The Telegraph: Hitting military bases inside Russia is fair, say Ukrainian soldiers You could close this page.

  4. Omce Ukraine wins this war they are going to be an European military superpower.

  5. This Would be for the best. Ukraine Should me able to defend itself in any way necessary without needing the approval of western leaders who are playing political games.

  6. As someone with no knowledge of how new military technology is developed I am surprised that Ukraine is managing this – almost half of their country is cut off and to my understanding the areas being annexed are productive regions.

I was under the impression that new weapons and programs take decades to get proposed and fully developed.

I guess there is a bit more motivation when you are being invaded but it is amazing to me that a war which was supposed to last 3 days at most is now having entirely new weapons systems developed and deployed whilst being at a disadvantage. I hope when Ukraine comes out on top they leverage their position and become a stabilizer for the region and continue to keep Russia in check.

  7. Get a market pen and cross out “Made in USA” and write “Ukraine” on the missile…

  8. Ukraine receiving support from half the world and people thinking they developed these on their own🤣

  9. I wouldn’t doubt that the USA is still behind this to find a loophole to allow them.

  10. Damn I swear, before this Russian invasion I rarely if ever thought about Ukraine. Knew next to nothing about it.

Now I know all about the history, including the Holodomor, and have the image of an absolutely indomitable Ukrainian who doesn’t hesitate to fight for what’s right with everything they have.

    Cheers and Godspeed

  11. They need be able to hit targets in Russia and need to do it quickly. If trump wins in America he will sellout the Ukraine and NATO all together.

  12. The allies’ version of “muh escalation” is likely coming down the road, whether they like it or not. If Trump wins in November, he will immediately cut off aid and then Ukraine has no incentive to follow these arbitrary self-imposed red lines by the west. Ukraine will then hit deep into Russian territory with the existing munitions given to them since more won’t be coming anyways.
