Neon Buys ‘Shelby Oaks,’ Horror Film From YouTube Creator Chris Stuckmann

1. >Fresh off the success of last weekend’s “Longlegs,” Neon announced Tuesday that it has acquired worldwide rights to the “Shelby Oaks,” which was written and directed by filmmaker and YouTube creator Chris Stuckmann. It marks Stuckmann’s feature directorial debut. The film is described as a documentary-found footage crossover. It will have its world premiere at Fantasia Festival on Saturday. Neon will release the film theatrically in the U.S. and handle international sales.

4. Really excited for Chris. Been watching his channel since his first Hunger Games review roughly 12 years ago now. Can’t think of many people who chase their dreams, and actually cross the finish line (myself included). His channel has sadly changed a lot since he switched to directing, and I imagine he’ll pull away from YouTube more and more, depending on the success of this film. But good luck to him.
