  6. Why (just) AR-15s? The fact that this was an AR-15-style rifle should be irrelevant. It was a 400 foot ~~yard~~ distance. Any rifle, AR-15 or not, is capable. Oswald used a bolt-action rifle, though from only roughly 81 meters (88 yards).

  8. Yeah okay Biden, make yourself even more unpopular among moderates, great tactician. Going after guns is what makes democrats lose, you need to realize there are plenty of gun owners out there that do not like Trump (and republicans). Go after something as popular as the AR-15 (and related) will NOT get you votes.

  13. 20 years ago I heard an interview with a GOP operative (um… can’t quite remember his title). He said, essentially – “every time the Dems talk about gun control we win”.

    The AR-15 is never going to be banned. The entire point of the 2A is for the people to have PEER level guns. There’s no point in bringing knives to a gun fight.

    Watching the lead up to this election, I’m convinced the DNC *want* to lose.

  18. I just commented on this on another thread, but feel I need to copy/paste here because there are such dumb fucking takes in here. We’re still arguing for new gun laws, even though we have a guy running for a second term who:

    * ⁠refused to accept the results of the last election

    * ⁠has stated on several occasions that he would serve a third term

    * ⁠has managed to sidestep the law at just about every turn for things you and I would have immediately gone to jail for

    * ⁠packed the supreme court with racists and christian fundamentalists

    * ⁠managed to magically get his stooge – Aileen Cannon – assigned to two of his cases

    * ⁠led an insurrection at the Capitol, leading to the death and injury of multiple people

    * ⁠aligns himself with Putin

    * stole top secret documents, stored them in his shitter, and very likely sold them to other countries

    * ⁠has not only his own social media company, but also the sull support of Twitter (fuck you, Elon)

    Then we also have actual nazis marching in Nashville every month, our police officers masked up wearing Proud Boys shirts, and Trump’s own people trying to off him.

    Are we still going to call these “common sense gun laws”? Sure doesn’t seem like they would be.

  39. As far as I know every gun used in every presidential assassination and attempt is still available for purchase new and used….they won’t care…never have, never will. They’re too busy banning porn and books. Just read an article yesterday about vending machines that sell ammo and they’re being placed in grocery stores now. Nothing about the way this country thinks about guns will change in our lifetimes and probably our gg-grandchildren’s lives either. It won’t matter who dies because of them….their age, gender, profession…none of it will matter.
