Eyes Wide Shut and the [tv show V](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/14141-v) are big influences in conspiracy circles.
Misfire? It’s one of the greatest films of all time.
Great art is rarely appreciated at the time it’s created.
I’ve only seen it once and I didn’t like it at all. What is good about it?
It made money and got good reviews at the time.
How was it a misfire other than breaking up Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman?
Misfire, only if you look at the box office maybe. I don’t even know or care how much money it made / lost. It’s my favorite Kubrick film.
I’m a Kubrick fan, but I didn’t enjoy it particularly. I wonder if it would be better in a second viewing.
I remember going to the theater prepared to be blown away by brilliance and leaving just kind of irritated.
How was it a misfire? Widely (nice) seen as one of his greatest films.
