A statement shared on the Festival's official Instagram read: "With regret, Sarah, Duchess of York has decided to withdraw from the Festival of Fiction, so as not to distract or detract in any way from the tour of Australia by His Majesty the King, which has recently been announced."

Charles is so thin-skinned it’s pathetic. He’s a whole king and she can’t have her small event.
That’s too bad because for all her troubles, big or small, she really does seem to connect with children via the books she writes or has a hand in. And yeah, you can say she thinks she’s a bigger deal than she is, but Charles also has a history of not wanting to be outshined by people (dare I say, especially women?). Although, it was a nice dig there…so I bet it did happen, but she did want to make it clear that it wasn’t her idea.
I think she’s trying to stay on Charles’ good side so she and Andy won’t be kicked out of Royal Lodge
