  1. So can we tar and feather them and leave them in the middle of the mid lands, only option I see for them

  2. Is the Limerick post a satire like Waterford Whispers?

  3. And just a few days before hand a driver was shot in the face with a BB gun after telling two children to get off the bus as they haven’t paid. Same bus route so they’ve withdrawn services, absolute scumbags making others suffer, what’s new.

  4. They could have at least done the decent thing and stuck to the route.

  5. Blades in the seats? Someone has a serious thing against public transport in Limerick

  6. “A seat on a bus on the same route, serving the Kilmallock Road to Pineview in Limerick City, was also found in recent days to have had razor blades “implanted” in the seats, causing serious risk to passengers.”

There’s some seriously dodgy times ahead when the current generation of cunt kids get older

Years of zero repercussions and suspended sentences are going to end very badly – it’s already started

Build a new prison and juvenile detention centre you tight bastards!

  7. close off all the transport links to that area. Let their mammies and daddies sort them out.

  8. I’m sorry , I know there rules against calling for violence but if a child is pulling a gun on someone. There needs to serious consequences. Either prison or mob rule justice from the community. This can’t continue . If they fear nothing give them something to fear.

  9. ‘A group of youths’ and ‘armed children’ can be interpreted in a lot of different ways!

  10. >Mr Nugent said the gang also refused to pay for tickets on the bus.

Bit of comdey including that in the statement about the hijacked bus.

  11. That area of about 5 square km is the biggest shit hole in Limerick. Completely neglected by the government for decades

  12. Can people not just raise their kids to be decent respecting humans anymore? What is honestly wrong with some of this country’s citizens! It’s getting to a point of embarrassment now.

  13. Love that they included this detail after a headline like that – ‘Mr Nugent said the gang also refused to pay for tickets on the bus.’

  14. I was on the Raheen bus there a few years ago and the same thing was attempted. The driver was finished his shift and the next guy hadn’t arrived so he just turned off the engine, left the door open, let people board and told them to pay the fare once a new driver showed up. This is a common enough occurrence and very sound of the driver. 10 mins later a gang of travellers arrived, some of the women with them were in an awful state and an absolutely huge guy was roaring at them that he was going to kill them. He patrolled the length of the bus in an incredibly intimidating manner and told everyone “were going for a spin” He then opened the cab, started the engine and was just about to drive off with the bus when one of his gang alerted them that one of the women was attempting to throw herself over the park railings into the river…They all scarpered fairly quickly when they realised the guards were on the way. Guards just drove by and said nothing. They never even helped that poor woman. I often wonder what happened to her.

  15. Can we redirect the Concerned Locals over here instead, please? Crime Cleanup on Route 303, stat!

  16. Fuck them being kids, jail time is the only cure for being such a scumbag. Let them put with a promise of a much longer sentence if they ever roffend.

Soft touch policing obviously doesn’t work no matter how much bleeding hearts try to pretend it does. You can’t fix kids that are fucked by bad parents without separating them from the parents.

  17. What the blue fucking fuck did I just read. Seriously, what the hell?

  18. I thought this was satire because of how insane the headline is

But apparently it’s real. What the fuck is happening in limerick

  19. ??????? I’d heard this from friends but the story is almost Mad max like

  20. > Mr Nugent said the gang also refused to pay for tickets on the bus.

    Wtf

  21. Mr Nugent said the gang also refused to pay for tickets on the bus.

What was the point of this? it just makes it look comical lol

  22. The fact that they deviated from the bus route is the least of my concerns tbh.

  23. “My son would never do that and if you come around here again I’ll bash your face in with a hammer!”

  24. ah here will you ever fuck off. crazy stuff. this is a road to absolute chaos. southill needs to be dismantled and redone.

  25. Ireland 2024. Lawless entitled scrotes with no authority figures running amok unchecked.

  26. Seems to be a teen gang out of Southill. The area is massively deprived and the parents (if they’re around) obviously have no control/interest. Summer holidays and the cops can’t go after the youths.

There are a lot of good people in that area trying their best – [https://southillhub.org/](https://southillhub.org/) – but these feral kids are dragging the whole community down.

  27. This is so shocking. The problem with prison is that they come out worse than they went in.

Is there any way to instill a sense of pride and responsibility to the wider community with the parents?

One suggestion that I think could make a significant impact would be changing children’s allowance from cash to instead have credits and tax breaks for childcare, education, school uniforms, food vouchers that cannot be spent on alcohol/cigarettes, free summer camps etc.

Giving people cash means that some parents have kids just to get the cash, then spend the money on drugs etc. Cash payments for kids doesn’t exist in countries in most countries. Even in the UK, it’s capped at 2 kids, but here it’s unlimited, so you get more for having more kids.

The busiest day for drug dealers is children’s allowance day here, with so-called “dicky money.” Listen to the amazing podcast “the witness” to hear a real account of this. https://open.spotify.com/show/2MvergbFdQsJbrFBWnraKi?si=OWaJCP–SEq8dKPO2doQ6g

Uncapped cash incentivises the very people who shouldn’t have children, to just have more of them. Maybe if they weren’t getting cash, they would think twice about having them, and they would have no choice but to use whatever subsidised resources provided to actually benefit the kids.

People who want to look after their kids would be happier with the childcare etc. People who want cash are the very people who shouldn’t get it.

Our current social welfare system incentivises the wrong behaviour.
