Energy prices highly correlate with CPI inflation. Certainly in the recent period, enery price shocks were the dominant cause of the increased CPI rate.
Does anybody still believe hiking central bank interest rates caused the energy prices (orange and grey lines) to fall, resulting in a natural symmetric fall in CPI inflation rate..?
