“Oh but for just $30 more annually you can share again!” 🥴
I doubt they care (from the article):
Despite this challenge, the streaming giant reported strong growth in its ad-supported tier, with ad revenue expected to more than double in the June quarter, contributing to an overall revenue increase of 16.4% to $9.53 billion, marking its fastest growth since 2021.
I get Hulu, Disney and Paramount free because they were bundled with other purchases. And Amazon streaming comes with their prime membership.
I did buy a 1 year HBO Max membership a few months back but it was 40% off sale, otherwise I would have never bought it.
Hitman and Don’t Look Up are the only 2 movies that I liked from Netflix in the past few years. Definitely not worth a reoccurring subscription.
Unless you live-and-breathe television, there’s almost nothing to justify Netflix being the most expensive streaming service.
Probably related to their declining catalogue and collection outside of originals.
Also when did it become 25 bucks jeez
Streaming: Let’s charge more, introduce commercials, water down the quality of new shows, and pretty much end streamings golden age… because we’re salty over the writer’s strike.
Customers: Hoist the sails! Man the BitTorrent! Swab the VPN!
Remember last quarter Wall Street was talking about how it was working. Companies really just need to do what they know is best for their business and quit reacting to Wall Street demands.
Also Netflix increasing their prices so frequently probably didn’t help.
Slow growth is still growth.
I can’t believe anyone subs to Shitflix at any tier.
How can anyone even afford streaming anymore
Lets get to “No subscriber growth in Q3”
Started sailing the seven seas and haven’t looked back. Thanks Netflix!
Do we *know* it backfired? I mean, they still grew, right? If I recall correctly, headlines at the start of the crackdown said originally “growth is strong even with crackdowns!!”
Are we going to attribute every quarterly increase or decrease from here on out to them enforcing their user terms?
Anyone paying for it still is a bit of a fool. I’m sure this will get downvoted but they’re honestly in the low, low tiers of quality programming among streaming services. Cancelled about a year ago and haven’t missed it a bit. Don’t really know too many people talking about Netflix shows. If you want to be the most expensive it helps to not also offer the worst content.
Netflix had a 20 year head start on the streaming game and fucked it up.
