This is what communists did when they got to power in my country. The transformed the public squares into gardens. Not to prevent a lange number of people from gathering there, of course. Out of concern for aesthetics, i’m sure.

There must be more things like this. A lot of big useless parking spaces, city squares that consists only of stone/asphalt, excessively large roads. I would like to see these places become more walking-friendly and green.

In Serbia all cities got top left in last 2-3 years, cause corruption
You forgot the part where there were nice, tall trees the before they cut them down to build underground parking with concrete frying pan above.
Visited there back in 2016. Really beautiful place. Functional and clean.
It somehow seemed more Germanic to me than other Polish places I´ve been to.
Poland is in its yassification era. Keep it up !
The top-left was done quite recently, like 2010 or so. I’m glad it’s changing, but it was so stupid carrying out a project that was immediately hated by everyone and having to change it asap
