  1. Reminds me of a certain minister / mp from India once upon a time ago. He drank the river water ~~then he died sometime later~~

Edit: He didnt die but was hospitalised. Point being, strange untreated river waters looking clean is no basics for you to drink it raw

  2. *immediately heads to ER for a round of IV antibiotics *

Do me a favor and show me the Seine, drained, and all of the plugged pipes leading into it.

  3. Why are the rivers only cleaned up for the olympics.

  4. Yeah that river is brown even in the tiny thumbnail Gross lol

  5. Why does her swimming in the water make the issue go away? It’s dumb.

  6. John Oliver did a segment on this a month or so ago. Good stuff

  7. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/17/sport/paris-mayor-swims-river-seine-olympic-pollution-intl-spt/index.html) reduced by 75%. (I’m a bot)

  8. As far as I remember the Seine was tested clean a couple of weeks ago!

  9. Didn’t they find a dead body floating in it like a few weeks ago? Gross.

  10. Boston built a semi-separated pool into the side of the Charles.

  11. Paris is just salty that they don’t have the Piscine du Rhône, like Lyon does.

  12. Man, we went from sipping the devil’s milkshake to diving straight in huh. It’s over for us

  13. 30 seconds in the river, an hour of decontamination as well as antibiotics….

  14. 100 years of sediment. Nah, let’s just see what happens to her in about 2 weeks

  15. If Mr. Hanky says it’s safe to swim in, then it’s safe to swim in.

  16. Were are the movements that wanted to give number 2 into Seine as soon as the mayor would go into the water?

  17. If France can clean up the Seine then good for them. We should all be cleaning up our rivers.

  18. Pass a law that you can’t say E. coli contamination and you must use the word “sewage”. and all this will get better. I’m always shocked to learn how many people don’t know that that’s the real reason.
