13. Trump has a good chance of becoming elected as president of the USA in November and Trump has vowed to stop all military aid to Ukraine. This would give Putin a huge advantage in the war and if Putin cannot wait until November and wants to talk now this tells us that Putin is in deep trouble.

17. It doesn't make sense that Putin would stop, when he has the upper hand. The Ukrainians are on the back foot all over Ukraine and I don't think Zelensky would be willing to accept any kind of peace agreement that doesn't allow him to remain in power.

38. I suspect Putin wont start negotiations until the US elections. If Trump wins, Putin might see that as beneficial and continue his campaign thinking America will eventually stop supporting Ukraine. If its Biden, then he’ll likely know that America wont back down and will eventually ramp up even more support.
