Could anybody tell me what these two photos show? The little hut points towards the other wooden construction. We discovered that on our outdoor trip in the middle of the woods in Sweden. Any hints are highly appreciated.

  1. Hunting stands

Keeps the hunter above the animals for two reasons

The hunters visual and smell is less likely to be detected the animal and any shot fired will have a downward trajectory

  2. It is shelters for travelers getting lost, you se in wilderness at night the rumpnissarna roams free.

  3. Wild boar feeding station.

A hunting tower is likely within 300 m somewhere.

  4. A women watching tower, so you can see but not touch, protects you from any legal issues with women in sweden

  5. Klassisk åtel för vildsvin. Man sitter i kojan för att hålla värme och inte höras/luktas.

    Helt normalt. Helt lagligt.

Sätter en spridare med majs. Vildsvin kommer. Pang. Middag.

  6. An outpost. It helps you remove nearby fog of war. Takes 15 seconds to build and costs only some wood and a few stones.

  7. It’s called a “runkhytta”, when on long walks you might want to free yourself without any elks sneaking up on you, and then you can sit at an elevated level there and enjoy what nature has to offer 🙂

  8. Det är till för att jägaren ska trilla ner av rekylen.

  9. Witches houses. Watch the documentary “midsommar” where they explain this in detail.

  10. Is the blue thing inside the wooden structure meant to store water?
