  1. Also, keep in mind that these are oblasts near other countries where they might have better access to open internet.

  2. As a resident of Russia, I laugh at this nonsense. People bring cash rubles to the bank like crazy – the annual interest rate is 16%. People get rich simply by doing nothing. The war fit into the Russian economy – stores are filled with goods. 90% of people just don’t give a damn about war. Volunteer contract soldiers and convicts fight. The guy is telling complete lies. Pulling stereotypes onto your ass.

  3. The problem is that Russians, mostly, use Yandex so Google metrics are, likely, from the more “internationally” oriented Russians and not a good representation.

  4. Hi Paul, if you want to know more about whats happening with the ruble Joe Blogs has a number of good videos about this and other economic happenings at play.

  5. I would like the Insights from Ukraine data to be right, but there needs to be nuance to considering the data. One thing to remember: Google Trends is about the rate of change in search volume. So relatively small changes in small volume searches can result in a high trend number at a given time. Where as even some large numbers on high volume searches are still relatively small changes so under-considered on Google Trends. Finally Google isn't the dominant search engine in Russia, domestic giant Yandex gas more Russian searches – so we're only getting part of the picture.

  6. Casinos also used for money laundering. Perhaps people have moved economy underground and they clean the money through the casino.

  7. The "pills" thing could be cultural. It's possible the term pills carries a connotation there, kinda like "meds" here. Meds and medicine don't mean the same thing in casual conversation. "Did you take your medicine" is generic, "did you take your meds" kinda implies antidepressants

  8. 3 years in and u just realized it's oblast not oglast. LMFAO Paul! Don't ever question Bidens mental acuity again! Jk luv u

  9. RUSSIA, Was Registered a High Income Country a Week Ago !! For REAL INFO; "Deep Dive" by US Col (Deco) Daniel Davis! This Nzi Supporting 🤡 is Constantly Lying by Omission!!

  10. They offer to contract 2000 USD / 175,000 rubel / month ..but Tuva average month salary is only 360 USD / 31500 max 570 USD / 50,000 rubel

  11. Someone published a chart showing the sign-on fees for russian contracts, and I was shocked to see that some regions (like Tuva probably) pay 400k rubles, and others such as moscow pay 1.4m rubles. That's a 400% difference.

  12. I always think about the sentence “that kind of thinking isn’t allowed in a free country!” when Russians talk about how free they are compared to us poor subjugated westerners.

  13. To be honest the regular Russian peasant even when Russia was flying high in the 2000s with Putin been the best president ever….live like today…

  14. To be completely frank the easiest think to "game" as an adversary country is a search engine that tne opposition country uses at something like 85%. How many Americans even know what vk is? Russians have to use vk and yandex
