  1. Food is best if its recycled and eaten several times!

  2. That looks like lentil soup that was left to dry under the sun.

  3. Ah yes, the famous Spartan delicacy : Black soup.

Happy to see the Greeks are keeping their ancestral traditions alive

  4. Don’t know what it is supposed to be, but it looks a bit like chocolate rice pudding. If you prepare it with slightly too little milk it will be thick enough to stick like that.

Belgian rice cake will also often be thick like that. It’s basically rice pudding with a dough base and baked in the oven. Not really sure where this “Belgium” is, but the cake is great.

If it is supposed to be something other than rice pudding, I’m concerned for the well-being of the Greek soldiers.

  5. Fool, that’s not food. That’s the ammo they’re gonna throw at the Turks

  6. And I thought our Army scran was bad, would gladly take sodexo’s culinary terrorism over that solid brick

  7. Sometimes you need to eat, other times you need mortar to build a wall out of rocks. Why carry two different buckets of paste, guessing whether you will be building more or eating more when you can carry just one?

  8. Now you see why we break dishes! How else will we break up the food so we can eat it?!

  9. Yep, that way you shit bricks and save on wiping, you don’t have a scratchy butthole that disturbs you while you’re “training with the guys”

  10. This explains a thing or two about the martial prowess of the Greek Army.

  11. Not to flex, but we had ice cream ships in WWII.

When we had a hurricane a number of years ago the National Guard was giving out cases of MREs because the power was out for weeks. They weren’t half bad. A good variety of meals with goodies in each pack.

  12. They read some ancient text that said this is what the Gladiators were fed and thought it would make them good at warfare again.

  13. Spartan black soup stronk 💪🏻

*Local pizzeria delivery phone goes brrrrrrrrr*

  14. I once read in Asterix the Legionary that the stronger an army is, the worse its food. That’s what keeps the men in a bad mood, ready to fight.

Honestly did not think the Greek army was this strong.

  15. Hey that’s just like a blizzard from Dairy Queen. Just have to squint real hard.

  16. I love lentil stew. I really really do. But that thing… that thing scares me.

  17. Wait till you find out about the food of the french army.

  18. Nice consistency. Just take a spoon and fling pieces of it at the ceiling. That should increase the entertainment value of the mess hall for almost everyone.

  19. As we used to say during basic training in the boot camp to each other ”better than jail food”

  20. They stole Turkish food but didn’t upgrade army meals yet.

  21. The Spartans had a meal they would eat every day called μελανας ζωμός (black soup), which tasted so horrible that rumor has it that when Spartans were asked why their main meal was so outright awful, they would respond “To make death look nice”

  22. Reminds me of this video of a russian soldier waving his hands over his dish before turning it upside down without it falling out

  23. Gotta say that greek food is probably the most underrated cuisine in the world. Okay, I am somewhat biased as my family is from eastern Sicily. Bifteki, Souvlaki, gyros and as that was not enough the moussaka. The latter is beaten only by Lasagne al forno and parmigiana di melanzane!

    Opa, opa, malakas!
