  4. I’m fairly certain my entire radicalization Origin Story is watching Bugs Life and hearing City Hall by Tenacious D for the first time. Disappointed Jack kinda threw Kyle under the bus so hard. It could be argued that it was in poor taste (my opinion? Fuck it. Trump’s fine and he himself has made similar or worse jokes about people who weren’t fine) but they’re a comedy band. Suddenly the cancel culture crowd is all about cancel culture? I seriously doubt that the Vinn diagram of D fans and Right Wingers was a complete circle anyways. But gotta protect that Panda money I guess

  8. This sucks. Kyle Gass is not a bad man. He made a bad mistake, and instead of using these worldwide headlines to have some uncomfortable conversations (that NEED to be had), everyone is just going to abandon him, cancel him, ruin his life and livelihood, and leave him to put it all back together (as if) alone. How is this fixing *anything*. All it’s going to do is make everyone afraid to speak, and terrified of anyone who dares to. Fuck that.

    And shame on Jack Black for not standing by his (former?) friend. He has the voice and opportunity to try and steer everyone to get through a shitty situation together. Instead of using his sizeable platform to unify, he just shut everything down and ran. I am truly disappointed in someone I thought was a great person.

    I don’t like Trump but people died and another was injured and I wish people could be classier about all this.

I can’t believe the relentless onslaught of comments that actively think Jack Black ditched KG and “threw away a friendship.” KG probably was side by side with him and knew exactly what he was going to do and supported it, knowing it can only ultimately benefit both.   33. I’m a senior citizen so Eisenhower was president when I was a kid. When the Mickey Mouse Club was pre-empted by his speech when I was 6, I said I wished he would die. My mother immediately told me it was illegal to wish a president dead. I guess Kyle Gass’ mother never taught him that lesson.
