To keep cool in the baking temperatures air-conditioning units have been working overtime and this has clearly had a massive effect on the energy consumption across the whole country.

    On Tuesday, July 16, at 8 PM, a new record for electricity consumption of 3341 megawatt-hours (MWh) was recorded, announced the Croatian Transmission System Operator (HOPS) the following day.
