Man, 38, charged over south Belfast disorder

A 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with disorder in the Glenmachan Street area of south Belfast on Tuesday night.

He has been charged with riot, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and indecent behaviour.

There had been trouble near the Broadway roundabout over two consecutive nights this week.

Cars were damaged and petrol bombs were thrown at police.

The man is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
