I'm really puzzled as I can't believe this would be displayed in the center of Munich, so a part of me hope I'm misunderstanding and there is another explanation. Please enlighten me…

Your interpretation is correct. It basically means “Black-red-gold (the colors of the flag) is all the diversity we need”.
It’s either anti-immigration, or anti-LGBQT (in direct opposition of the pride flag), or probably both. I don’t see any other explanation.

That’s a bit of a leap… One can be against immigration and not be a racist.
Although, yeah – this exact banner is racist in 50%. The other 50% is they’re actually homophobic.

I find it kinda funny that the last word on the yellow stripe is barely legible, so most people casually looking that way are gonna read this as „Deutschland ist bunt“
