  1. A bit from the commentary:

    >Far more than “unity” or the official “Make America Great Again” slogan of the convention, the prevailing theme holding this year’s GOP shindig together is how much Republicans will debase themselves to please Donald Trump. Speakers compete with each other to praise a man who has insulted them or induced them to humiliate themselves for his approval. Monday night featured multiple speakers who had tanked their reputations in a failed bid to get the running mate nod from Trump. Sen Tim Scott of South Carolina, who ran against Trump in the GOP primary, yelled “I just love you” loudly at Trump after the Iowa caucus. Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama was satirized on “Saturday Night Live” and turned “fundie baby voice” into a national joke after her failed State of the Union response. And Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota will be forever known as the lady who thought Trump would be stoked that she killed her own dog. Trump rejected all of them, yet they still showed up to pay fealty to their lord.

  2. The GOP convention’s focus on appeasing Donald Trump showcases the party’s current state of subservience to him. This year, speakers have prioritized praising Trump over addressing policy or presenting a coherent vision for America’s future. The desperation to win his approval has led many politicians to humiliate themselves and compromise their own reputations in embarrassing ways.

It is ironic that these individuals were once rejected by Trump himself but still feel compelled to grovel at his feet, demonstrating the extent to which Republicans have succumbed to Trumpism as a political force within the party. This spectacle of self-abasement only highlights the GOP’s lack of leadership and direction without Trump at its helm.

  3. Where is Dem unification?
I know hiding like Spineless cowards.

  4. Dems aren’t much better with how many are too scared of getting screwed politically to call on Biden to withdraw. Both parties are overwhelmingly comprised of self-interested careerists who will do anything to keep their seats (though the dam may be starting to break on the left, whereas it never will on the right).

  5. All the people wearing ear diapers. Just creepy and disturbingly weird.

  6. One way or the other, Donald Trump will be irrelevant in four years… or WILL HE? What they do when their dear leader can no longer be President? This is what scares me. Are they going to try to keep him in office?

  7. “Unity” for Republicans always only means one thing… falling in line.

  8. What a bunch of sheep, who are so fragile about their leader, one might go far as to call them sensitive snowflakes

  9. If they hate Donald Trump so much, why are they always getting caught in bed with him?

  10. This is typical misinformation. I have been watching the RNC, nothing further from truth, or facts. Seems someone is living in an alternate reality

  11. Whatever you think at the end of the day

Republicans are playing the “aw shucks, gosh golly gee” card at this convention and it’s working

If the democrats want to win in November it’s not just about Biden being candidate or not, they have to better endear themselves to the American public

I’m reading listening watching thinking about things from the Republicans convention and they are bringing the “home grown apple pie and baseball” motif and it’s endearing them to voters

The democrats look like even if they are not being directly called it the evil empire. The party that doesn’t care about the little guy, the party that doesn’t warm your heart. These are very real things and the democrats are still talking about replacing grandpa Joe and apologizing for last Saturday. But there is no message coming out besides frustration and disarray

It might be a tight presidential race but it’ll take a minor miracle for the democrats to stay in the White House at this rate. And Harris is not a minor miracle so idk what they can do

  12. It’s a cult of absolute cowards bowing down to a garbage human being, and it’s super weird.

  13. GOP unity should terrify the Democrats, who are fighting over whether to run their candidate 4 months before the election.
