Hey,
I once a week travel from Poland to Germany. Even with Schengen Germany recently reintroduced limited border control.
https://www.bmi.bund.de/SharedDocs/pressemitteilungen/EN/2023/10/notifizierung-bgk.html
Normally it’s a nice integration, and since I am traveling alone in a sedan it’s usually “Hello, Hello, Continue”
But recently I was told to stop, and was asked where I am going (work) and where is work at what address and what I do.
I was wondering if this is per German standard.
In Poland I do not have to provide this to policeman.
I don’t mind giving my documentation or having my car checked but this kind of integration was really not nice.
Thanks!

So you basically complain that a police officer asked you for the purpose of your border crossing and then some additional information to get a feeling if you are telling the truth?
I mean, why make your life more complicated? I was once stopped by police on a scooter. It was near the student party corner of my city. As they stopped me, they spotted the big sports bag on my back and just asked if I was coming from work. I told them I came from the fire department and headed home. Everyone nodded at each other and we parted our way.
This is normal talk at any border crossing.
